It truly was a great experience. I love Oasis. So many things about it kept me smiling the entire time. The Size of the ship will make it very hard for me to travel on a smaller ship :D. The food was great expecially the 150 restaurant, I loved the salts from all parts of the world and that Martini ;).

The shows were great and the crew really worked hard to make us feel comfortable, I know it can be hard to be positive and upbeat with so many rude people so I had to give extra to them. I was able to do everything that I wanted to do on the ship and then some, my wife even purchased some art!

Embarkment and Departure were super smooth with absolutely no issues. The excursions were great, we loved the Xplor park in Mexico. I love this cruise so much I took advantage of the onboard booking discount.

I will post some pictures later.

The only bad thing about the cruise is that I lost my new samsung vibrant cellphone on the cab going home. My fault but the cruise was so great the sting of losing it was not as bad.

Welcome back!

What kind of cabin did you have? How did you like it? Be sure to add your information to this thread.

Which shows did you see?

Where else did you eat besides 150 CP?

Which kind of dining did you do: MTD, 1st or 2nd seating?

Inquiring minds want to know!

:)

Just off too.

I never had a problem with the size of the Voyager and Freedom class, but this one is definitely another animal.

There were 5701 passengers and over 2300 crew. It was crowded!

Don't let anyone tell you it's not because they are all spread out all over the ship. This is true, but it is still very crowded and I don't mean just when the shows let out.

Review soon

Well, I am looking forward to this review as it seems that it will have a different perspective from what I have read on these boards so far.

Both times that I cruised on the Oasis, we were over 100% capacity and never had any issues with crowds. Rude people? Yes but had that issue on the Freedom in August. Just something that I expect cruising today.

Just an FYI. Tonight (Sunday night) The Learning Channel - TLC is showing a special on the Oasis at 10:00 EST. Not sure what they are going to show but I suggest watching it and maybe it will give you an idea of the Oasis.

Your 4 year old will love the Oasis, they have a fantastic kids place....they have a theater, science lab, age appropriate rooms..The H2O zone is great....the ocean adventure crew is wonderful...they don't have Mickey, but they will have Shrek...Try it he will love it! Matter of fact you will love it too... Happy sailings, in which ever you choose.

I saw a picture of a coffee and tea station in the closet under the safe. Is this available in all rooms? My DH doesn't like the coffee on the boats and we usually bring our own 1 cupper so he can make his own coffee or hot chocolate. This would be great just to bring the individual bags.

Have you heard of the Dreamworks stuff that will be on Allure?

How To Train A Dragon ice show, penguins from Madagascar aqua show, character breakfasts and characters occasionally roaming the ship. :);)

Great fun on my 20th Anniversary trip on Oasis. My Tips and comments.

1] See all the shows...I'm not a big show guy but they were highlight of the trip.

2] Ship only felt cramped a couple of times.

3] Food and service were great, did my time never waited more than 3or4 minutes for table no matter when we went. Only saw a line once or twice to get in.

4] Sit down lunch at Opus (dining room) was best lunch on ship (we mostly ate at solarium because wife liked it up there (light fare)and then we discovered sit down lunch and it was awesome.

5] Roast beef sandwich at Park cafe was not to be missed.

6] biggest issue was lack of free drinks and most juice and stuff was watered down.

7] Mixed drinks were not really over priced. And if you found a good bar tender and stuck with him/her.

8]Labadee was OK but crowded and some one should tell the natives not to bug the cruisers and they will sell more stuff! Most people are intimidated to check out what seemed to be some cool hand made trinkets. My advise is get there before 10am and find a hammock in the shade or a nice shady spot.

9]Casa maya was lame and RCI should find alternative stop. Mamasita's at the pier was kinda fun and they had great Mohitos... did not eat, have lunch before you leave boat.

10]Cozumel was nice, went to Nachi Cocom. Food was good, beach was nice, drinks ok but pleantiful, snorkeling was decent also.

11] Wife did zip line was cool but kinda a gimmick. good photo op!

12 Flow rider was awesome and got the hang of it right away and got my fat body to do a full roll on second try, had to try to fall off. could of done it all day...can't wait till they start making them for home use.

13] The tip they grab for my time dining does include your cabin cleaning also so don't tip them seperate like I almost did.

14] Jazz club and dance clubs were decent, I think we went to every bar once or twice.

15] take advantage of all the photo oportunities and photographers you never know you may want some of them.

16] If you do early or late dining option then get a table assignment early than your time on the first night otherwise you may end up at an unpleasant table (like us) so we switched to my time.

17] Don't try to bring a bottle of booze on board, they will probably find it :(

19] Beds were very comfy!

20] My phone service worked the whole week except in port. So I got e-mails and could text. So I did sneak in a couple of responses.

21] Take less cloths than you think you will need. I thought I did but didn't wear them all.

22] Hot tub spa's in solarium were awesome and we even watched live NFL sipping frozen drinks in spa...just awesome.

23] Football and Baseball games were on in most the bars if you look.

24] Casino was gross if you are a non smoker. I thought there was a non smoking side but it was bad!

25] Get to shows early and get a front row seat or as close as you can. There is no such thing as too close and stay near isle if you want drink service.

Have fun, you will love it!

Greg

My comments on some of your comments.

There were crowds sometimes. The Windjammer was so crowded I never used it. Plenty of alternatives though. And bad, they have no make to order omelet stations there or elsewhere on the ship.

Food was not that good a dinner in the main dining room. Only a few nights was it good there.

Casa Maya was not lame. My favorite stop. Went to the Mayan ruins at Chaccoban with Native Choice tours.

The Casino was so gross that it reeked and stunk from the smoke when it was empty. I made sure to put that on my comment card.

We are booked for FOS and excited, but we saw the special on Oasis last night (after watching Amazing Race, of course ;)) and if we had seen the special before booking, I can see us booking Oasis, based solely on the crew. We have GOT to book for OASIS!! What a great ship and what an amazing crew, from the parking lot to housekeeping!!! With 6000+ I would not be surprised to see a crowd in the Windjammer, especially on the day of boarding, but I'd risk occasionally being crowded to be on the ship. Fantastic special.
