Pacific Jewel Drydock Update - posted today on P&O site - there is also a video here with a glimpse of the Big screen. They are also putting a dance floor in the atrium.

It's an ill wind as they say. Looking forward to the big screen on my new years cruise on the Jewel. A dance floor in the atrium? Is that so you can waltz to the purser's office?:confused:

P&O have posted another update on the Pacific Jewel:

I would have thought that it would be installed against the funnel aft. On the dome it would cast a shadow down to the front part of the sun deck. Also looks a bit exposed to strong head-winds!

There is talk that the Jewel is going back into Wet Dock after she has finsihed in Dry Dock before cruising again. Anyone picked up on that?:confused:

21st nov leave drydock and 22nd resume service,but wet dock till 27th then sails as j036.

Hi Everyone, we continue to receive upbeat reports from our engineers both in relation to the technical work on board and the general ‘polishing’ of the Jewel including the addition of her top deck Big Screen feature.

 

As you know, our technical team leave nothing to chance and Pacific Jewel will do a sea trial in preparation for her return to service. With these positive reports of good progress, we continue to plan for Jewel’s departure on November 27 for the J036 White Cloud Wonders cruise

I took some photos as we sailed passed Jewel the other morning. They were testing the screen.....and I can assure you we could see it miles away as we cruised down Sydney Harbour. Sorry about the small photo, I'm not sure how to make it larger.

It is a shame that a few cruises have been cancelled for those who missed out but that screen does look pretty cool!

Interesting that P&O are anxious to show videos of stabiliser, big screen and dance floor in the atrium but nothing about the real problem, ie,

engine room/ propulsion system.:(
