e-mail at sea

If you go back and Search you'll find some recent discussions about this. O has a new provider for Internet and I believe I read that the email function has been changed.

Whatever the format, you'll be notified of your "email address at sea" when you receive your documents. ;)

Does it cost anything to RECEIVE an email via the ship email address?

Not sure now but the old system I think it was $2. to send or receive one

We just use our online email EG: yahoo

but it costs for your time online

The other issue if the person is not expecting an email they may not check the computer room message board & I am not sure if they notify you mail is waiting for you

Maybe someone who has used it recently will comment

$3.95 for outgoing email. It has doubled.

I could be wrong but I thought it was $2 out and $2 in so for a two way conversation it would be the same price. Now though if someone sends me an unsolicited email I can receive it for no charge and decide if I want to reply.

For me this is a great service. I can easily occasionally check the board at the computer room to see if I have received mail. No need to log on. I can be on vacation but confident that if something happens that needs my attention I can easily be reached. A lot better for me than logging into my email account daily to see *if* there is anything important regardless of the connection speed - and its free.

Hopefully the only time I will need to use the internet is the $15 or $20 of connection time to confirm my flight home the day before disembarkation. If that is it I'll be a happy cruiser.
