Whew -- you and the family made it! Now hopefully you are all relaxed and having some fun:)

Weather co-operating I'll be heading to San Juan next Thursday to board the Serenade on the 8th! Can't wait to see her (and some of the crew) again.

Happy New Year and Enjoy the cruise!

Didn't know of this. So any diamond member can ask for it? what do you get?

We are also Diamond and did not know about this. Are you supposed to be able to ask for upgraded toiletries on all ships?

p.s. Really glad that merrionmom made it and is having a great time. I always enjoy her posts.

Honestly, they aren't much at all. I'm surprised anyone would even ask for them...they aren't designer brands by any means. Shower/bath gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion.........nothing great unless you forgot or chose not to pack your own.

I was so glad to see that your flight took off (with you on it) so I could uncross my fingers and toes. Have a glass of champagne (or two or three or four or...) for me! Just be careful walking across the pool deck since you don't have L and me to hold onto. :D Cindy

Glad y'all and the folks trying Spirit out of AC managed to make the cruise without too much difficulty.

Have a great trip!!!

The Gallery One Doubletree has Neutrogena toiletries, which we are enjoying on the Navigator. ;) :D

By the way, all of those individual posts are there because RC's computers won't let me use the multi-quote function.

DAY TWO: CocoCay

Beautiful day. I didn't get off in CocoCay two weeks ago from the Majesty, so this is my first stop there in a year. Boy, have they done a LOT of work!

First of all, when the tenders enter the cove area, the entire area on the right is boat docks and such for water sports. In addition, Iguana Cove (the sign is gone) has a bridge over it from the main area/near Straw Market to the water sports area.

Worst of all, *my* "Queen of the Iguanas" hammock is gone. :(

The lunch was the usual - it was good. Too many seagulls. One of them dive-bombed my DS. He was *not* amused.

We traipsed all over the island - there are many new trails. Then we walked in the water, and I got some shells "for a friend". ;)

Then we relaxed on some loungers for a while. I left the kids there and went back to the ship myself.

No tender problems. THAT was good.

Delicious dinner, first formal night. Excellent beef tenderloin and roasted duck. I skipped firsts and just had those two.

Used all of our 2fer wine coupons and got wine by the glass.

We got to the Royal Promenade too late for a picture with the Captain. Well, we got there in time, but *charming* member of CD's staff said that we were too late, and shoved a rope in front of me. :(

Almost came out even in the casino tonight.

Production show was good.

Late night comedian, who was last night's regular comedian, is AWFUL. Tommy Savitt. Maybe he is YOUR cup of tea, but he ain't mine.

No Gunnar/Matthew sightings today.

Lost my last post.

Concierge Lounge has been empty.

Diamond Event has been empty.

Must be mostly newbies on board this cruise. The good news for us stockholders is that they seem to be spending like crazy.

My crystal block appeared on my bed tonight. It struck me as strange that it was just put there (there IS a note) on Night 2. Has anyone else received a block like this?

Our steward, Rocky Pama, is wonderful. I asked him for my "diamonds in december" promotion tote bag to take to CocoCay today. (I had deliberately not brought a beach bag to cut down on baggage). He had to make several phone calls and twist some arms, but I got it in time to go ashore.

My daughter's drying cleaning, which she needed for formal night tonight, wasn't back at 5 p.m. Again, Rocky went and got the dresses immediately for her.

Good job, Rocky!

Glad you made it to the port, Carol, sounds like all is well, (except for the part about no Gunnar/Matthew sightings!)

Have fun and don't wreck the ship, ok? Counting down the days to our little get away.

And btw, what was that thing that you and Lorna liked to do in Cozumel? I remember drinking was involved!:D

Susan, in case Carol doesn't get back to you ... it was the "Taste of Mexico" ShoreEx. Be sure to ask for Luis (he with the beautiful eyes). Have fun!

Carol, I've heard of the block being delivered to the cabin, rather than being presented at the C&A Party. I, for one, think there should be an acknowledgment at the Party - particularly for your Half Century Block! ;)

(FYI, neither Ally nor I received ours on the MJ. Supposedly they are being sent ... ya, right  )

Have fun! Can't wait to hear about the Nelsons concert! I assume you'll be front & center. Hugs!!!

Thanks for letting us vicariously cruise through you, Carol. :) We've got a snowstorm going on here, so it was great to spend a few minutes on Cococay with you.

Yep... we had ours for 60 on Brilliance a couple of weeks ago delivered that way, sans the note. They left it on the bed on either Day 2 or 3.

We did get acknowledged at the party though... we were high cruisers on board and they made a much bigger deal of it than they generally do... We got the normal champagne, along with flowers, and a crystal that says "Congratulations on being top cruiser - Brilliance of the Seas - Diamond Celebration 2010" Then they did a photo op with the Captain, the LA, and (I think) the Cruise Director. We really had no idea they were going to do it, we went straight from dinner in the WJ to the party in our t-shirts and khaki pants... we would have freshened up and dressed had we known. :o
