Didn't see the first Poseiden movie(s) but I saw the one done in I think 2006 with Kurt Russel but it scared the crap out of me:eek:. Also, there are a small handful (last time I checked) of 'Love Boat' episodes free to watch online at Hulu.com. Don't know about you, but I love those.:)

Have fun with your research!

The trouble with Cruise Fiction is the ships always get sunk, capsized or terrorized in some way. Who wants to think about those things in connection with cruising?

Having said that, you might want to check out a 1997 movie called "Out to Sea". It's basically "The Odd Couple Cruising" with Jack Lemmon and Walter Mathau.

Not a masterpiece by any means, but some nice scenery, fun performances and feeds that "Cruising Jones" without the high anxiety.

Check it out.

Love Boat tv series on DVD (we have season 1 - are more out yet? - and love to watch it - too fun) Of course, based on the book by former cruise director Jeraldine Saunders - The Love Boats.

VIcki Lewis Thompson - writes a fun romance/mystery series with "nerds" as heroes - one takes place on a cruise ship, Nerds Like it Hot (http://www.vickilewisthompson.com/nerd6.html )

One of my favorite books from a few years ago was Devil on the Deep Blue Sea. Non-fiction. http://www.amazon.com/Devils-Deep-Blue-Sea-Cruise-Ship/dp/0670034185

Cruise Confidential

It's a memoir of an American's year of working in the dining room of a Carnival ship - Well sort of, I'm sure much of it is exaggeration.

Nonetheless, I do recommend it highly.
