Wonder why Captain Anders I. went from the Anthem to the Majesty. Seems it is a demotion to go from one of the most modern ships in the fleet to the oldest doing only the 3 and 4 day Bahamas.

 

Interesting.

He was my captain on both SR and EN and those were the only two ships I had had issues with. I don't know if that's by coincidence and I'm not placing the blame on him for those cruises being fairly mediocre. However, he is the common denominator on both those ships and I have to wonder if there's something missing there. For example, Capt Johnny on Allure (now Harmony) was a no nonsense captain with his crew and expected them to work hard but had a high level of mutual respect with them. Allure was my best cruise unsurprisingly with a great product all round and hard working, motivated crew and it does make me wonder if Capt Anders doesn't utilise his role as 'Master' of the ship as the others do.

Any idea what happened to Mattiass Persson? We sailed with him on Grandeur in January when he was newly promoted to captain. Enjoyed his captain's corner.

 

it could be 1 of 2 things. 1) his promotion was temporary (RCI does do that, promotes a staff captain while waiting for a permanent master) or

2) he's simply on vacation, they typically work 10 weeks on then 10 weeks off, or whatever they work out between the 2 assigned to the ship

 

Do you have a picture of Capt Mattias? I want to see if it's the same guy I met as a 1st officer on Sovereign 10 years ago then met him again on Navigator 6 years ago when he was just promoted to Chief Officer

According to Captain Marek's posts on FB, he is still traveling the US with his wife and daughter and was in LA on July 13. He was doing a helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon on July 10th and was in Page Arizona on July 9th.

Unfortunatelly it becomes more and more difficult to follow the changes within the Captains assignments and this list.

Hi Beth, how is it?

 

It's a work in progress and I saw a lot of little improvements in the 2-3 weeks since I got off the first time. The crew is really motivated, especially since they had a great USPH inspection earlier this month.

 

There are 2 issues which I heard discussed this trip: lounge area for a Diamond event (some of us just created our own on a de facto basis) and if/when/where the Sunday brunch is. On sea days it is listed in the Compass and on port days it supposedly is in the WJ, but no mention of that and I didn't go to check.

another pinnacle source of mine told me it was Capt Dustin. Since both begin with a "D" I figure the first reporter couldn't quite remember the "D" name. It's going to be a temporary assignment, it seems all the vacationing captains are taking turns on her until the permanent relief captain gets there. Then all the boys will have a turn playing on the new toy. :D Boys with toys :D:D

Capt Diego took over on NE on Jul 18.

 

You also show him on VI. I'm a little out oftouch since Capt Marek is still on vacation, but Capt Diego was a short term replacement for Capt Michael when the Lindberg baby was born.

 

a senior officer on VI told me that Lindberg is on now with Slaby returning 8-20.

 

and by NE, do you mean Empress? Her notation was NP when she was the Nordic Prince. We'll be on Empress for the Sept 17 sailing so I guess I'll be meeting a new captain (new to us)!
