We were on the Island princess southbound July 6 and notice a lack of food in the HC after around midnight. The place was like a ghost town, the only people around were the cleaners in the kitchens and there was no food to be had . Im wondering if this was do to the NORO outbreak?

I have read several reports lately that the HC is closing now between 11:00-12:00 (in fact, even the Princess site says it now closes at midnight). So, I don't think this has anything to do with noro outbreaks onboard. I guess, from what it sounds like from recent posts, that this might be the end of the 24 hour dining advertisement?????

Interesting that Princess would decide to close the HC between 11:00 & 12:00. If anyone wants a snack after a late Princess Theater performance there's only room service available. During that time I see the dancers & other performers getting something to eat at the HC.

I wonder why they wouldn't close it during the middle of the night when there can't be too many seeking something to eat.

People have been posting that the ships with an International Cafe have extended its hours, on some of the ships to 24 hours.

There was plenty of food available at the HC after 11:00 on the Sea Princess on the July 9th cruise. However, the Cafe Corniche closed at exactly 11:00 pm. We got there about 11:02 and they would not serve us. So we went up to the HC. I was thinking about returning to the Cafe the next night at 10:58 and ordering a pizza. But I didn't.

I hope that there will be some food (other than room service please) available somewhere (HC or IC doesn't matter) at any hour of the 24. We're late casino players and often want "a little something" before going to bed. We were on one cruise (can't remember whether it was the Funship Freddy or one of the RCI cruises) where all we could get at 3AM was microwaved(?) pizza UGH!!!

On the Sea Princess this month, no dining options were listed in the Patter as being open past 11pm. Our table mates said the chocolate cake they ordered from room service at 3am was excellent. :)

For some reason, this doesn't bother me if they are limiting late night food options.

After just getting off of a HAL cruise, I must admit I missed Princess's food options, outside of regular hours. There were a couple of times we were running to eat breakfast before they closed up shop, or trying to get lunch before the buffet got sealed up. That being said, I hope Princess will steal their taco bar idea.

It really doesn't surprise me that all the Horizon's might close at 11 PM since the numbers of people actually eating are minimal after that time. It probably cuts down on their food expenses considerably. The items that they used to serve after 11 PM weren't all that great anyway but it would be nice to at least leave the dessert bar open.

That would suit us just fine. All we'd really need was coffee some cookies or a little sandwich... nothing spectacular. Failing that, we'll just take something from the HC/IC earlier in the day and store it in the cabin frig. As far as room service, if truth be told, after a long day/evening we really don't feel like choosing from a menu, or waiting around until they come with it. Just our feeling - YMMV.

Shalom, Andy.

In the Horizon Court/Cafe caribe, at night there was the no-cost coffee made from syrup.

I wonder if the IC will have that available or if the only way to get coffee there at night is to pay extra for it.

I took Northbound trip after your Southbound trip. Sorry about the NORO for all of you! :(

In the Princess Patter everyday (back page) Restaurant hours were listed as follows -

Horizon Court

5:30-11:30am - Breakfast

11:30-3:30 -Lunch

3:30-5:30-Light Snack

5:30-11:00pm - Dinner

Actually all restaurants had closing hours. Other than room service (as I understand it) you can not get food after 11:00pm on board.

Rumor has it, too much food was going to waste in the wee hours, so they are implementing "closing times."

No problem. We both have coffee cards. "Don't leave home without them :D:D"
