I got a survey from Carnival about the new loyalty program. Here's the basics of the program:

Carnival is introducing a new Loyalty and Recognition program that is designed to make members feel appreciated for choosing to sail with Carnival again and again. Membership is easy. You can become a member of the program anytime simply by signing up before your first cruise. And you will enjoy the basic benefits of membership immediately. Otherwise, after taking your first cruise with Carnival, you’re automatically a member.

Here’s how it works: As a member of this program, you will earn one cruise point for every day you spend on board a Carnival Fun Ship. Each time you sail with us, you will enjoy the same set of basic member benefits until you collect a total of 25 cruise points. At that time, you will reach the second membership tier and can enjoy an expanded set of benefits. Guests who have collected 75 cruise points will reach the third membership tier and enjoy even more program benefits. And the fourth and highest benefit tier is for those who have collected 225 cruise points.

The survey was really only asking my opinion about the new graphics and names on the Sail & Sign cards... Personally, I don't know what's wrong with what we've got now. Change for the sake of change, I guess...

I don't like this... I am at 22 cruises, 119 days... 3 more cruises I would have been Milestone and now Carnival wants me to cruise 96 more days (which is obviously way more than 3 more cruises) to become top tier... This is not looking too good to me right now... I will sit back and wait for what each tier is offering but so far, DON'T LIKE WHAT I'M READING :(

And I didn't get the survey either...

I actually like the sail and sign cards we have now. But if I had to have a new design, I also would go for the whale-tail. (but obviously my opinion doesn't matter either, as I haven't gotten a survey for the new cards, and have never gotten a post-cruise survey.:(

(I just found out I was on a different ship and a different year for my first Carnival cruise! I SWEAR it was the Carnivale!!)

It will be interesting, but since they are going to days vs cruise, they might do away with the 25,50.75% OBC.

Im also going to set back and wait, I bet they totally revamp the entire program from top to bottom.

Im predicting a 1/1/12 start date

I don't like it either and I am already Milestone.

I think they are changing it to satisfy all the whiners that did not like the old program and now it is going to be harder for people to make platinum and milestone. I guess when you keep whining for something you finally get it. All the people whining they do not like the notepads, picture frames, etc. The petit fours, etc. etc. etc. I always looked at it like they did not have to give you anything. Now it is going to take a long time to get anything.

Maybe that is why I do not get surveys. I don't whine loud enough.

I guess we will wait and see if I am grandfathered into the top tier or will have to wait another 10 cruises to be milestone again.

When I went to my email a few minutes ago, guess what? Yes, the Carnival survey was there, so I filled it out and submitted it:)

I'm going to be really bummed out if the milestone OBC goes away when I'm this close. Oh well, Carnival has been saying they're revamping the program for how long now??? With any luck, I'll be on my 25th cruise before they do it!

[B]I use Firefox, and it doesn't show up either. I downloaded Google Chrome, and it shows up there.
I even bookmarked it, and in Firefox the bookmark opens fine.

Imagine if you were trying to get that all straightend out after the changeover (whenever that may be). Better to do it now so you know whether there was a problem with your cruise history or the change over/conversion!

This is one time that I hope Carnival is really slow in rolling this all out. We are supposed to be platinum on our next cruise in October and at the end of that cruise we will have 74 days cruising. We are sailing on the Spirit for a 15 day Hawaii cruise. We'd be one day short of making the third level of 75 days sailed when we board that one. The VIP boarding/tendering and laundry were the perks we are most interested in. Oh well we shall see how it all plays out.
If you change levels on the cruise, you would have to wait until you next cruise to get the new perks. Thats how its done on all the other cruise lines that use days, rather than cruises.

Doublt they would change your card mid cruise. You would just move to the next level on the next cruise that would be my guess.
Thanks! That's pretty much what I figured, but since the program isn't supposed to happen until next year my question will be moot.

Actually, it would have been nice to have some sort of ceremony just for me, maybe they would give me a tiara to wear for the day...:D  oh and a DOD named for me.
Me too... 2 away from milestone ..but... I dont even get the casino stuff :D
I have 8 cruise now and need another 2. Two of those were a 4 and 5 dayer, so that shorts me a few points. The next two cruise will only get me to 66 points, So I will need a long third or a seven and a short. Oh well. Maybe if I didn't keep switching back and forth.

I do not care much what the card looks like. We would be platinum in February 2012 unless of course they now change the benefits. EVERY one of our cruise have been on Carnival. 10 cruises in 2 years and 3 months. If that isn't loyalty than I am doing something wrong. Now they want to count the days instead of the number of cruises???

I may have to branch out, I love Carnival but I have booked strategically just to be able to say I am Platinum. Maybe not a big deal to some people but that is one of the reasons why I have only sailed with Carnival. I really don't want to look at other cruise lines loyalty programs but who knows.....:(

We were on a Med cruise on another line 4 years ago and saw someone come of age at the bar. It was just after midnight. It took them about 30 minutes for them to get it straightened out with the letter he had from guest services and the reprogramming of the computer. But, the look on his face when he got his first legal drink was priceless!:D

So, the sparkling carylicious would be the DOD, a red champagne cocktail served in a glass with glittery sugar around the rim to simulate the tiara. ;)
