Suite perks: Pinnacle Breakfast & Neptune Hours?

SweetP2

Recommended Posts

Hi - we are booked in the PH on Zuidy for next year. This will be our first time in category higher than VA (and I suspect won't be our last :D).

We have two questions associated with our cabin category:

1. What are the Neptune Lounge hours of operation?

2. Do we have the additional option to eat breakfast in the Pinnacle Grill each day?

Yes, you are welcome to have breakfast each morning in Pinnacle which will be open the same hours as the Main Dining Room. It is also the same menu. The setting and service are a lovely way to start each morning.

Neptune usually opens at 7:00 A.M. and remains open without interruption until 8:00 P.M.

I seen light variance in the hours....... sometimes 7:30 A.M and sometimes 8:30 in the evening but not usually.

I would agree for the most part as we had a suite on our last cruise but had a bad experience in the Pinnacle for breakfast. Our understanding was that the food would be prepared by Pinnacle chefs as it is when you dine there in the evening but instead it was prepared by the MDR. We ordered tomato juice and had to ask two more times until we finally received it some 10 minutes later. My wife ordered a waffle and I ordered eggs and after almost 20+ minutes our order arrived but the waffle was cold and the eggs were over done. I realize we most likely experienced something that is very unusual for HAL but left unsatisfied. Usually we order room service but thought we would give it a try. The Neptune with Chona and Kristine was fantastic.

We'll try again!

Breakfast in the Pinnacle is our favourite suite perk. We have been in a suite on the Eurodam twice this year and almost every day on both cruises we started our day in the Pinnacle. We had excellent service and food on every occasion. (I wish the same could have been said for the evening meal we had there - quite the opposite, but that's another story!)

We like the peaceful atmosphere (on both these cruises very few people were there at the same time as us) and the attentive service. We also appreciate being welcomed by name each day and there being no problem requesting to sit at a table for two.

One thing quite a few people we have talked to are surprised about - you can 'mix and match' anything on the menu. I think we managed to try different combinations every day!

Enjoy your cruise in the PH and breakfasting in the Pinnacle!

All the ships that we have been on the last couple of years the Neptune Lounge was open from 7 AM until 8 PM.

Yes -- it is true -- the Pinnacle breakfast is not prepared by the Pinnacle staff -- it is done by the main kitchen..

We have some excellent experiences for breakfast and some bad ones. It seems to be hit or miss and a lot depends on the Pinnacle and how he/she watches over everything.

On the Rotterdam the Pinnacle breakfasts were not actually in the Pinnacle. They were in the Kings Room (I believe that's the name). It was pretty intimate, never crowded, and we chose wherever we wished to be seated, usually by a window.

On Rotterdam, Zaandam, Volendam and Amsterdam, I'd rather be seated in King's Room during the day seeing Pinnacle on those four ships has no windows.

That space came from Fincantieri as Odyssey and Marco Polo Restaurants. They were converted to Pinnacle just after Zuiderdam joined the fleet and was the first to have a Pinnacle. If you notice, on Zuiderdam it is called Pinnacle at Odyssey as they had already made the flooring when they made the decision for Pinnacle. :) (Maybe it's been changed at subsequent dry docks but when the ship first came out that was the name. I haven't sailed it in years.)

Oh wow!:D you may have my old room ;)

I think most of your questions have been answered - Hal staff will be waiting for you and escort you to your room or the Neptune Lounge if your room is not ready.

You will have a wonderful dining room table - do take advantage of in room dining. Just talk to your concierge. Your dinner will be served to you course by course just like in the dining room.:)

Huge fridge in the pantry so if you need to bring any wine, soda or water or have any friends, there is tons of room :)

No reservations needed for breakfast in Pinnacle as it is only open to suite guests.

Our last cruise was our first suite experience and we loved these extra perks. I can say that for us the service at breakfast was not as good as the service at dinner in the Pinnacle...but it was still very good.

We loved the Neptune Lounge...the concierges in there were absolutely wonderful. It was so nice being greeted by name each time we walked in there. That was our new little sanctuary that we utilized several times a day.

:) :)

Pinnacle breakfast is served the same time as Main Dining Room breakfast. Check the daily program each day. As stated, no reservations needed for breakfast. The first time you enter, they probably will ask your cabin number to avoid confusion as to whether you are in a Suite or not but after that, we have found they remember us each subsequent morning and greet us by name when we enter. :) Nice.

Warning: suite life is addictive!

I must say that with our PH on the Veendam, we were greeted checking in by some woman who showed us where to sit and who later came back and said she was sorry that embarkation was taking so long. But when they finally let us board, no one personally escorted us onto the ship.

However, the concierges made up for it, they took us by the hand when we entered the lounge and didn't let up with the attention all week. You will love the PH suite!

Thanks everyone for all your information and feedback re: Neptune Lounge, the Suite Perks (Pinnacle Breakfast) and service experiences. All so very helpful.

We will be sure to enjoy at least one breakfast in the Pinnacle (just because we can :D); dine at least one night in the PH (just because we :D) and to enjoy the Neptune Lounge between the hours of 7am - 8pm (just because we can :D). And we'll be sure to bring lots of prosecco for the huge fridge to sip on while sitting in the private hottub on deck as the coastline rolls past....ahhhh....

JUST BECAUSE WE CAN!

(how many more sleeps?)

Not only can you have breakfast in the Pinnacle Grill, but we also enjoyed breakfast in our suite at that lovely dining room table or on the veranda. We also had dinner served course by course one evening in the suite, and it was delightful. Enjoy your cruise and the PS, as it is hard ever going back once you have had the PS.

Do come back and tell us all about your cruise.

We keep our Vodka in the refrigerator!!

Never have used the hot tub out on the verandah. But we sure do enjoy drinks out there.

Hope you can use the hot tub in Alaska.

On our May MS Rotterdam 16 day transatlantic in May; breakfast was offered for suite guest in the Pinnacle. Pinnacle Manager Benjamin and staff provided outstanding service at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Just ONE breakfast in the Pinnacle? I guess it will be room service then :D I really like breakfast in the Pinnacle - it takes them one breakfast to get a feel of your wants and needs so do at least two - JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN :)

On Eurodam last year I forgot all about getting to eat breakfast in the Pinnacle. I enjoy watching people so much that the Windjammer was all I needed. It was great being around so many effervescent people! Sometimes I had to wait for my eggs benedict but there was always someone to talk with while waiting. The energy from everyone just seems to flow through you.

There is no Windjammer on any HAL ship.

I'm sure we all know you meant "Lido" . That is what HAL calls their Buffet Area. (Just a slip of the tongue.)
