Rare Kinkacruiser Posted October 13, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2011 Looks like a good weekend coming up. With the current flight disruptions, a cruise would be the best way to get to Auckland.
bobhsv Posted October 13, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 13, 2011 I can just imagine Queen St this morning. If I was a local I think a day off would be smart. I bet the shop owners are making a motza! Nice pics David. Jen
Hot Chilli Posted October 13, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2011 Great pic's David. Good to see so many ships in Auckland at the same time. She handles multiple ships so much better than Sydney :)
rugbypopsie Posted October 13, 2011 #5 Share Posted October 13, 2011 Auckland is a great city for cruise ships....we all know they are there to cheer on the Wallabies....go you good things (or I am going to have to change my name)...good luck to the Kangaroos too! Big Aussie/Kiwi weekend in NZ this weekend.:)

Kiwi Kruzer Posted October 14, 2011 Author #10 Share Posted October 14, 2011 Just as an interesting aside.... With the ships staying in port all wekend they had to apply for for special licences to sell liquour. Normally when a ship is in port the bars are closed, to comply with local laws. Not sure about the shops on board, but I would think that there will be no duty free.

Kiwi Kruzer Posted October 15, 2011 Author #12 Share Posted October 15, 2011 I wonder how the guy who put $100,000 on the TAB for Wales to win last night is feeling. At least if he was on one of the cruise ships he will know he still has somewhere to stay and eat. Still after last nights surprising outcome , at least we know that the All Blacks will be playing France in the Final next week.:D:D
Kiwi Kruzer Posted October 15, 2011 Author #13 Share Posted October 15, 2011 Orion has joined the 3 other cruise ships in Auckland. Seems strange that the smallest ship is berthed at the large container wharf.
