What's your record for lobster tails?

On my last cruise, we had 2 guys at our table having a little competition and they had salad, soup, 7 lobster tails, prime rib & dessert. I only had 4. They are awfully small! :p

 

What's your best?

I have only had 2 before but I think this cruise might be a different story. I know for sure I can eat atleast 5 but I have always been a little embarrassed to order that many. Should I be? Did they order 7 all at once or how did they do that? OP good question!

They ordered all 7 at once and the waiter didn't even flinch. Started out with one, then they put 3 per plate on the next 2 plates.

I don't know if I could finish 7 tails because I normally order 2 appetizers and 2 desserts. But maybe I will start off with 3 tails and take it from there.:cool:

Ditto.......could I eat more than one......probably, but I also choose not to look like a hog at a trough and find it disgusting that others do....hence.....Your Time Dining and a table for 2 for us.

My husband ordered 2 last cruise, I had one. I always wished I had ordered an extra. Maybe next time, I DO love lobster and I really don't much care if anyone is watching what I'm eating and thinks I'm a "hog" lol

My husband had 5 on one of the cruises. He was embarrassed to order all 5, so he ordered 3 and had my son and I order the other two.

 

The waiter figured out what we were doing, and told my husband that it would have been OK if he ordered all 5 - he was not judging. He even offered to bring more, but at this point my husband was too full, so he declined. (We had the best waiter and his assistant on that cruise).

I used to eat 6 or 7 pretty regularly when we had lobster bakes in the summer. But mind you, that's not on a cruise ship, the lobsters are fresh and are whole lobsters with claws:). I've probably had a half dozen tails total in the past decade on cruise ships, never impressed. I'll take the prime rib instead.

Years ago, in my younger days, I ate 9 lobster tails with a side of meat and the appetizers. I think my best nowadays is around 2-3....love that lobster!!! :D

Zero. I never order it. I'm in the prime rib crowd!

 

DH had 1 last cruise for the first time. He said it wasn't good. Probably won't order it again.

Waiter we had on the Fascination had a teenage boy eat 13 on the cruise prior to ours.

On one of our group cruises my friend eat 8 lobster dinners and 4 prime rib dinners, yes with trimmings also had soup, appetizer, dessert, bread and 6 diet cokes (yes diet lol)

I have only ordered 1 but I do know someone that has ordered 17! :eek: He is not that big of a guy either. I would have been embarrassed to be at the table with him though.:o

 

I do know that if you order more than 1 that it is much easier on the waiters if you order them at the start. They dont care how many you order because If you order them later, they have to go thru long lines to wait for the additional dishes. If you have ever been on the galley tour they will explain this and how complicated and backed up it gets when people continue to re-order.

Yeah I agree I don't eat those inferior lobsters on CCL anymore. Once was enough.

I usually order two. In April on the Pride, the waiter "made" me have a third one because he could tell I wanted it. (I did)
