Things I don't like about Carnival Cruises

Yep... others have said it... I hate having to debark. It takes too long to get to the next cruise and some of the guests I could do without.

The ships... the staff, crew and the experience have never disappointed me...

:)

Well I guess your expectations are lower than mine. Try a different cruise line and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Announcing sales in the spa and such over the ships intercom to drum up business. ===> Doesn't work!
We were on Glory a short while ago.

CD Josh was making most of the announcements.

His voice doesn't suit it, at all. I thought it was just me

until I spoke briefly with a guy in the elevator who expressed the same dislike of his voice.

Josh is OK on stage in the theater though....it's just his intercom announcements that annoy.

Sorry Josh, we still love ya. ;)

By contrast, a guy with an English accent made announcements (same cruise)

but his voice was noticeably more suitable!

Next thing: does Carnival appreciate how much these silly marketing announcements AGGRAVATE cruisers

and probably have the complete opposite effect??

Is there empirical evidence suggesting a flood of sales in the 5-10 mins. immediately after such announcements?

I very much doubt it!

"Flogging" your product rarely works

and Carnival should minimise if not curtail many of their marketing announcements.

This would make for an overall-classier product, like how the new Serenity area has done!

1- more food selections with Chopped meat aka Chuck

2-dump the air brush tatoo staion and replace with a real tatoo and piercing station-- Carnival Ink

3-on the big screen have the cd's do info commercials selling all sorts of goods ( a la Billy Hayes) That or keg rentals on the promenade
