Big Chief Posted November 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2011 It would appear that certain cabins within the same class can have larger balconies (such as 6304). The scale seems to indicate that the veranda is as much as 25% larger.
Rare cruisestitch Posted November 8, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2011 The plans are not exactly to scale but there are some balconies which are larger than others. If you are looking at a Solstice class ship, check out the Sticky above regarding Solstice cabins. If you are looking at M or C class ships, there isn't a sticky but if you do a search of this board, you may find information on specific staterooms has already been posted. The rooms run the range from Category 2C, 1A, C1, or AQ (with the exception of 6209/6210 which are categorized as 07 Obstucted Balcony - great balcony at a small price!). NOTE - The Boards are also searchable... there is a ton of info here on individual Ships & Staterooms. (To be truthful, I did a SEARCH to find the info for the Solstice Class Ships and just copied it here) Cheers!
silkhair1 Posted November 8, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2011 There are some cabins with larger balconies and you can see that on the deck plans. If you search the boards I think you will find the information on the rooms you see. Have fun!!!!!
Lsimon Posted November 8, 2011 #5 Share Posted November 8, 2011 There are several know inaccuracies on the deck plans, depending on which version you are looking at. Also, some areas where the deck plans don't give accurate representations of the veranda size while others do. You should check out the cabin number if you want to know for sure. The best way is to use the search feature on this forum (the Cruise Critic Celebrity forum) and search for your cabin number. Then also try searching on the mirror image cabin on the opposite side of the ship.
CRUZBUDS Posted November 9, 2011 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2011 There was a recent thread - someone had a CC cabin that the balcony was cut off at a 90 degree angle and was terrible. The graphic on the deck plan showed nothing out of the ordinary. When in doubt -- search the forums and ask. Cruise Critic is how we've found many over-size and "secret cabins" on several lines. Our next cruise is on Holland's Zuiderdam -- our balcony and our neighbors are twice the size of all of the other cabins in the same class. :D
cb at sea Posted November 9, 2011 #7 Share Posted November 9, 2011 No...they are not "to scale", but they are somewhat representative of what you'll get!

bighairtexan Posted November 9, 2011 #9 Share Posted November 9, 2011 There are some cabins port and starboard right before the aft that look like there's a bumpout. I can't vouch for all of them, but they sure don't all have a bumped out bigger balcony, no matter what it looks like in the deck plan.
Valley Girl of VA Posted November 9, 2011 #10 Share Posted November 9, 2011 Sloop John - that list actually has some errors. I personally know that on the Equinox 8160 has one of the largest balconies, larger than 8162. I believe somewhere there is a revision to this list that you have posted. Deck 8's plan was wrong for a while so that list posted above is incorrect for that deck. For deck 8 it should be: Larger: 8199, 8162, 8255, 8228, 8251, 8224, 8281, 8254, 8285, 8258 Largest: 8197, 8160, 8257, 8230, 8253, 8226, 8279, 8252, 8283, 8256 8343 and 8334 on Solstice, Equinox and Eclipse are slightly larger too. On Silhouette they are numbered 8345 and 8338 because of the extra cabins on this ship. Phil
