Upgraded Latitude Levels?

Maybe finally those Platinum level passengers that bought into the level will finally be cut from the level. They were only supposed to keep the perks until they used the prepaid bank. NCL was unable to figure out how to remove them so they have been grandfathered for years.

I've never hear of this, but now you've got me curious. People actually bought into being platinum??

thanks !..but when I log on there is no place to make a payment

Hey you..

If you did not book with NCL I think that certain information is not available...I book with a TA and I cannot see my payments or OBC's on the NCL site..

I checked a few days ago when the site changed (the part where you log in) and it shows our OBC - we booked through a TA. It is great to have it there now as I had already had TA send confirmation when we booked since it didn't use to show up previously.

We booked thru a TA. Our OBC that is coming from NCL now shows in MyNCL ($450.00) the additional $200.00 OBC diectly from my TA does not show up. I'm just glad I can at least see the OBC from NCL.

That was back in 2006 or 2007 I believe....before the cruise reward program came into play. I'm sure someone remembers the program....it wasn't available when I was on a ship that year, and the program didn't seem to last very long.

This is only the OBC credit that you would have received from NCL as part of their special promotions (offered to everyone). The personalizer will not show any additional credit that the TA would have given.

I remember a program, not sure if it is the one time2cruise1 is talking about. It was only our 3rd cruise back in 2006. Onboard ship we had the option of putting a deposit down on a future cruise, very much like the present cruise reward program. But depending on how much you put down, you could purchase a higher Latitude level for that next cruise. We did the deposit for gold status, but platinum was also available. The higher level was only supposed to be good for that one cruise, and for me it worked that way. I was gold for 1 cruise and returned to bronze the following cruise. However, I know someone who was never put back to their proper Latitude level. She was at gold and then went up from there, reaching Platinum in the time it took me to reach silver.

The new Norwegian system is a little buggy but when it is working right it works lol. Sign into your NCL account and a screen should come up that shows the cruises you have booked with three boxes showing headed messages, make payment and vacation summary. If this screen doesn't automatically come up then click on "Booked" just under your sign in welcome.

To just see your on board credit click on vacation summary. A screen called Reservation at a Glance should come up and along with all the other information there is a section that shows On Board Spending.

.

thanks for the info..but alas -I see nothing !:( and there is no make payment heading...to try that way

After you sign in a new screen comes up. Try clicking the tab that says "Vacation Summary". My OBC showed there right under the section that showed my reservation number and cruise dates.

thanks..but no--not on mine :(...maybe someday..all the bugs will be fixed!!

This is an interesting thread that I stumbled across - I'm anxious to hear the announcement on December 5. Maybe the changes will get me to come back to NCL.......... There are a few things that I've missed while being loyal only to Royal Caribbean because of the great Crown and Anchor loyalty program.

If you book through CAS and have to call to make your payments, it won't show up in My NCL.

Yup--just figured that out AND just saw this..RE: any OBC for Lattitudes tiers..(On Lattitudes section of NCL site)

Offer excludes NCL Reduced Rate programs (e.g. casino, employee rates, interline, friends /family rates, vendor rates, or cruises taken via cruise credit certificate) and charters. Combinability with other offers is subject to change or cancellation at any time per NCL discretion.

So ...besides no OBC promotions..also no Lattudes OBC..for me it does not pay to book with CAS anymore...

I was upgraded to Silver Status -

ONE cruise -

15-day Panama Canal

SJ Family Suite

I think this pretty much locks up the idea that they took into account both length of cruise and suites.

This is GREAT simple data! It does fit into my formula. I wonder if NCL is missing a cruise on the couple of people whose data didn't fit. As well my points for number of days might need tweaking 1-3 days = 1 pt 4-8 =2, 9-13=3, 14+=4. ?? hmmm...

In order for that to happen to me, some peoples current level will have to go down. See, I have 4 cruises so should be bronze. Other people have 4 7 day non suite cruises and they are still bronze. My level has clearly increased due to my longer cruises and suite cruises. In order for me to stay bronze, the person who is now bronze with their 4 cruises has to switch to nickel or something lower, which I really don't think NCL is going to do to them.

I haven't been changed, still says Platinum! :D ...although I'm close to having earned it now...as most who bought in probably are. Chances are that if they were willing to pay the deposit, they were already sold on NCL's Freestyle and have continued to sail with NCL. There weren't that many of us.

We bought into this program in Feb. 06. It was a very short lived program on board the Dawn and Jewel only(newest ships at the time). We paid $3000. This deposit was good for up to 4 sailings, up to 4 cabins per sailing, and for up to four years. All cabins that used this money for their deposit were supposed to get platinum status. The package also included four vacation vouchers for land based resorts. We only got to use one of the vouchers before they sent us a notice that the vouchers were no longer valid, and instead they would let the person who bought the package keep the Platinum status, so for years I had Platinum, while DH was Bronze/Silver/Gold. For some reason in early 2010 he moved up to Platinum too...I'm not sure why.

So maybe they couldn't "figure out how to remove" us, but we were told that it was to make up for our unused vouchers. I'm sure that time2cruise is more in the know about this than I ...when I was an NCL newbie he helped me out tremendously...and he was actually the reason that I bought in. He had come back from a sailing and reported on this program before I sailed on the Dawn, so I had a chance to think about it before I stepped on board. Thank you time2cruise!

I certainly hope everyone that is getting their hopes up so high, are not too disappointed when things finally shake out and you are exactly where you were before with perks/benefits no matter what your level is called.

boy you sure know how to spoil something don't you? LOl

I am sure most of us have thought about that and yes, things might change, but I just tried to figure out where I am on days, etc. I think I have about 90 days, mostly in balc or outside cabins. I have 2 more to go before I reach Platinum but I do show Plat now. It looks to me like they are basing the level on the number of nights as well as number of cruises.

My level remains at Gold. I have 9 NCL's completed (3 in suites), one booked (another suite) and another one (also a suite) in the works.

Sounds like they are missing some. Perhaps once the program is announced and the dust has settled, you should call and check. You should be much higher than I, unless the bulk of your cruises were 1-3 days and they are counting them lower.

Thanks to you and Mooder for explaining, it makes sense now :)
