Hey! I just read your whole review in two nights. My boyfriend and I are heading out on our second Dream cruise in April so we are just soaking up anything Dream at this point.

He sent me a link to this trip report and telling me about how the photography was great and how you had pictures of the Chef's Table in the review. He knows I'm a sucker for food porn. So I click on the link and start reading and see your avatar pic and signature and I'm like 'I recognize that gal!'

You were nice enough to post a comment on a trip report I did for our first Dream cruise back in Sept 2011.

I just wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed getting to tag along on your adventure. What can I say about your pictures that hasnt already been said? They are so beautiful.

Hope we get to sail with you guys at some point. I think it would be a blast! Take care :)

Jay

Hi Alicia,

So after 3+ hours (to include some skimming, if I'm honest), I've completed this entire thread - start to finish. Got pretty tired about an hour ago, but plowed through and made it to the end. What a fabulous article... And such stunning photos! Thank you so much for taking the time and energy to compose what is a fabulous story. You are indeed very talented and it is nice to see that so many people have benefited from your generosity.

My family and I depart on The Dream in just a few days, and as a splurge I'd booked us a Spa suite back in November. Your discussion and pix of the spa really have me thinking it will be well worth it. Unfortunately, since we enjoy having a family dinner each night - we're will be passing on the Chef's Table as it would be a waste of $$ to bring the kids (they're way more finicky then you :)).

Warmly,

SethroK

Is your sailing on? I heard they canceled the next few sailings for this ship?

As far as we know, the March 23rd departure is on. The Dream left St Martin Sunday around noon and is doing 21 knots toward Port Canaveral, where a repair crew, parts and cranes are awaiting it's Tuesday arrival. It will be strange to get to a departing ship where zero passengers were just on it!

Thats good to hear.

When I sailed the Disney magic out of Galveston the ship arrived empty (it was the maiden voyage from that port) and it was great as we got on the ship and could go to our rooms immediately. We got on really early too. We loved it.

Thanks for your willingness to share your experience. I'm planning our first cruise - a YEAR out - and I've been so frustrated by a lack of sensible reviews of the stuff I want to know about. And I'm a visual person, so "the lounge was great" doesn't really work so well for me.

I was going on the assumption that the cruise food was plentiful, but meh. The idea there would be a Chef's Table experience worth the $$ wasn't even a consideration. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing the photos and your opinion. It's now on my Maybe-we'll-splurge list.

Whew! My sister told me about your review, but mostly about your incredible talent with digital photography. I've spent I don't know how many hours finally getting to the end (although I, too, will admit to skimming through about the last 6 or 8 pages of comments). Your words are as artful and heartfelt as the pictures they describe.

Thank you so much for taking all of your time to do this for us "lurkers" here on CC.

I also, at some point stopped and found your website and was simply awed by your obvious dedication to making the best memories for brides and grooms.

Now, on to the Breeze review!:D

Hello readers! Day 3 of our itinerary puts us in Cozumel, Mexico. A couple of cruises ago, we visited Cozumel and something rather traumatic happened to me within the first 30 minutes of getting off of the ship. So, we went back to the ship and didn't experience Cozumel at all. I won't go into details but I'll say that going back to Cozumel was one part of this itinerary that I wasn't looking forward to. So, I booked a Carnival excursion to go to Dolphinaris and swim with the dolphins. I'll get into this more soon.

The night before, we chose room service items to be delivered to us for breakfast since we knew we'd have to get up early to be ready and off of the ship for our excursion. I've never looked at the room service menu for breakfast on previous cruises but was annoyed that there weren't any protein options on the menu. They basically had cereal, bagels, yogurt, milk, etc.

Our breakfast arrived about 20 minutes late which had me in panic mode but no biggie - we wolfed it down. Then we headed off of the ship. Getting off of the ship was really easy on this day as it wasn't a tender port and we probably only had about 10 people in front of us to get off.

We're running a little late because of the breakfast but I want to take a few photos. Latanya is yelling at me.. okay not yelling.. just insisting we need to go. I can see how short the walk is so I am insisting I need to take a few photos real quick. :-) I won so here they are:

Another view showing the Dream all tied up very well. (mad at myself for being in a rush and not noticing I cut off the "M". )

The Voyager of the Seas and the Jewel of the Seas were also in port:

Tried to crop out as many people as I could:

We had to walk inside this short shopping plaza in order to get back outside to the hub of where all the tours met up. There was this man wearing a gold pirate suit. There are people in every port that dress up like something and want tips for you to take photos of them or with them. But they're all normally very nice about it and will pose for you first and then hint at their tip jar. This man, however was grouchy and wouldn't pose for anyone. In fact, when someone pointed their camera at him, he'd point at his tip bucket and block his face or turn around really fast to make sure they missed the shot. He might have better luck if he was nice to people. I had a fast enough camera that I got one anyway and while I would have tipped him like I later on tipped several others, I chose not to because of how grumpy he was.

As we walked out of the shopping hallway, there was one of those cut out things that you put your head in. I had Latanya pose in it for me so I could get the lighting and settings right on the camera and then asked someone else to just press the button once I hopped into the photo.

Don't we look... happy? Haha!

We were in Cozumel last September and saw the gold guy posing. He was grouchy and rude then too! I thought maybe he didn't want me taking a picture of him because of his two different colored eyes.

Your pictures are just WOW. I know there are probably more eloquent words to use but they can't even begin to describe your amazing talent. Halfway through your review I had to stop reading to wander over to your website. Again, just WOW. Last fall we got our feet wet so to speak on a 4 day cruise aboard the Fascination. This October my mother and I are cruising aboard the Dream on our 2nd cruise. After spending hours reading your review and drooling over your photographs I'm even more excited than I already was. I'm not sure how I stumbled upon your review, but am so glad I did. Well . . . except for the part where I will now be spending even more money because we just HAVE to include the Spa Package thanks to your review. Truthfully I was a goner upon seeing your initial pictures. And your eventual review just put me over the top. Thank you for your labor of love in editing the pictures and your awesome review. I'm just hoping the ones I take of our cruise will be half as good. Oh . . . and I'm one of the boys through the windshield followers. Forget the technical mumbo jumbo . . . that shot was simply amazing. You captured a moment in time that can never be repeated. Looking through the window (windshield), you gave us all a look at the soul, innocence and lives of those two boys. Priceless.

For now I'm heading on over to drool over your review and photographs from the Breeze.

Hi! Preacher's wife here. We are sailing on the Dream August 3 2014 with our two daughters before we take them to college. LOVED your pictures and your very detailed description of your wonderful cruise. Thanks so much for putting all that time in to share your experience with everyone. :)

WOW. I don't know how I missed your review. We sailed on the Dream in June. Of course, if I had seen your photos, I would not have posted my review with photos taken from my phone!

In any event, my review is found at

I am going on the dream Aug 2013 and JUST bumped into your review. While your review was from a few years back, I think it is the MOST informative, gorgeous review I have come across. Your concept of what the average public is interested in knowing is spot on. Each time I had a question, I finally learned to keep reading before asking it because you inevitable ended up posting the answer.

Chef's Table: We've been to 2 chef's tables on Carnival..different boats, different ports, different length. Each time, the menu was different. However, on our second chef's table, we found out that it was the exact menu my sister had on a different boat/sailing/length/ports, the month prior. We LOVE the chef's table, but are apprehensive in booking it for our Aug 2013 cruise for fear that it will be the same menu we experienced last year. Do you know if they have changed the menu or have they standardized it across all their cruise ships?

Thanks!
