moniquet Posted January 4, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2012 Has anyone seen this programme on BBC 4? It was shown yesterday evening but is a repeat. moniquet Posted January 4, 2012 Author #2 Share Posted January 4, 2012 BTW I forgot to say...I now know where the new QM2 got the idea for those horrible swirly carpets. They were similar in the old QM2 during the Art Deco era:)

You can watch by hiding your IP address. If you google you can find a way.
miz66 Posted January 5, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2012 Hi, Thank you I really enjoyed that, I had heard many of the stories while on QM2 but it's nice to hear them again.
Lake Barcroft Sailor Posted January 5, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 5, 2012 Found it via Google search on You Tube. On You Tube, just enter Timeshift: The Golden Age of Ocean Liners (BBC) in the search box and it should be the first result you get from You Tube. moniquet Posted January 5, 2012 Author #7 Share Posted January 5, 2012 Glad some of you managed to get it. I didn't realise it was only available in the UK.

Austcruiser84 Posted March 22, 2012 #11 Share Posted March 22, 2012 Even better is The Liners made in 1997. Four part series. It's on YouTube. Cannot buy the DVD or VHS and it won't be put on sale ever again. Best documentary ever made.
bazzaw Posted March 22, 2012 #12 Share Posted March 22, 2012 Thanks for the YouTube info. I am so technologically challenged I was afraid if I tried to hide my IP my computer might self destruct! Nah! That wouldn't happen. The biggest problem hiding your IP is that you may not be able to find it again :p Barry
Lake Barcroft Sailor Posted March 23, 2012 #13 Share Posted March 23, 2012 It took me a while to find it, but here is the You Tube Link. It is in 16 parts and takes a while to get through--I'm paused at part 8 but it is absolutely fascinating and well worth the time to see. On my You Tube it advances from part to part. Thanks to Austcruiser84 for pointing the direction to this show.

Lake Barcroft Sailor Posted March 25, 2012 #16 Share Posted March 25, 2012 Once again, thanks for the link. I stayed up until 2 a.m. this morning to finish watching it. It is nice to know that there are other fanatics out there. My partner said if I really put my mind to it, I could become another Bill Miller and thereby spend a lot more time on the ships I love. I don't think that is going to happen, but it would be nice.
