csk Posted January 13, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2012 trying to decide if I want to take a Royal Caribbean cruise out of Seward or a Princess out of Whittier, trying to decide on the pros and cons of each, Princess prices are much less and are basically the same, thanks for your help
olemissreb Posted January 13, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 13, 2012 We decided on Seward so we could take a Kenai Fjords tour. I've since learned about the Alaska Sea Life Center and so we will also be touring that and maybe taking a "Behind the Scenes" tour there also. I have read on these boards that the Prince William Sound tours out of Whittier are also pretty spectacular - guess I'll just have to plan for another trip to AK to get one of those in!:)
Chenega Posted January 13, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 13, 2012 Either one is good. Just a matter of personal preference. Whittier is closer to Anchorage but Seward has more to do. Both day boat trips to Prince William Sound and Kenai Fjords are worth your time.
LEtue Posted January 13, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2012 trying to decide if I want to take a Royal Caribbean cruise out of Seward or a Princess out of Whittier, trying to decide on the pros and cons of each, Princess prices are much less and are basically the same, thanks for your help I would pick the cruise with the best itinerary and southbound sailings on Princess are much better IMHO. You can easily spend a couple days pre-cruise and see Seward too :D
mapleleaves Posted January 13, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 13, 2012 everyone will say that the itinerary is the most important factor. Post the details of both itineraries and you'll get more feedback on your question.
Budget Queen Posted January 14, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 14, 2012 I on both boat tours my trips. IF you have the time, it's simple to do touring of both/either.
