Carnival's website is HORRIBLE !!

We are leaving on the Carnival Destiny in March.

We've cruised about 7 times now and the last 2 cruises we ventured away from Carnival and went with NCL and Princess. For both of these lines we could see a complete, accurate and, importantly, specific description of that ship, not general description of all their ships.

Please help me if I am missing something, but to even figure out all the different dining options is impossible!! Their website plain stinks.

For example, I was excited to tell my wife there was a Guy Ferrera Burger Joint on the ship - she was ecstatic! Only to find out in the fine print it was only offered on two ships, not ours.

One last example, I read a reviewer from Destiny say "don't miss the Sushi bar". No where on the website (that I could find) does it mention a sushi bar. What the heck!

On Princess you could do a virtual tour of every public room and restaurant, you could view live web cams of this ship and had a very good idea of what to expect before boarding.

With Carnivals website, I can not tell anything specific to this ship. Perhaps its because it's a dated ship, I am not sure but it is really frustrating.

Nope you are not missing anything....:p Their website stinks..

look at the deck plans you should have a sushi bar somewhere

You should be looking at deck plans anyway, getting to learn the ship.

I do that to a fair extent, prior to cruising. Can't tell you how much it helps!

That and Google-Earth-ing my ports of call. ;)

I agree with you, I could not find anything about the dining choices for the Pride when I first started looking, I finally just came to Cruise critic and ask.

You can't find anything you are looking for because the Destiny doesn't have any of it (with the exception of the Sushi bar).

I will admit the goccl.com (TA portal) site has better deck plans.

Give this a try: https://www.goccl.com/irman/bookccl/the_fleet/interactive_map/destiny/interactivemap.html

I saw this link the other day, thanks for posting it agian. This is the most informitive link that I have seen so far.

I agree! I was looking at Carnival Liberty, using the "Explore the Ship" link or whatever, since that is the ship we are looking at booking on.

The web site has all kinds of fabulous pictures of things on board, which are accessed from my clicking on Carnival Liberty specifically. My DD got so excited when she saw the rope climbing thing, and giant board games on stage, and realy cool water slides. I ASSUMED that all of those things were pictures of the Liberty.

Um, not so much! When I looked at the deck plan, it turns out that Liberty doesn't have the rope swing obstacle course thing up on the deck with the mini golf, and it just has one water slide - not the really super cool ones she saw on the pictures. I have no idea about the board games on stage thing.

She's going to be really disappointed when I tell her. I don't know why the website shows you things to do on OTHER ships, when you are specifically exploring one PARTICULAR ship. Very misleading.:(

I am also new to cruising & this site (which im still learning) . I stopped yesterday to pick up a carnival book & that to was not at all what i had expected compared to other cruise sites. Would be nice to see a site with all the deck options/plans! Happy Cruising!!

When I went (year and a half ago) it was in the same area as the casino

If you have an Android phone go the Market and download the Ship Mate app for Carnival. Really cool app. It has all the ships, deck plans, sailing dates, and excursion information.

AWESOME!! Thanks for that, am downloading it now

I have found the Sushi Bar is usually a cart that is parked somewhere on a public deck. It is not really a bar.

Yea, its a tiny thing. I have heard that the sushi is exceptional though (i'm not a fan)

I agree with the sediments of this thread though, carnival site left mush to be desired... Thank god for CC!!

It's also available for the IPhone. It's really a good app.

Carnival's website has been far from perfect for a long time. I suspect that they've invested so much money in their current software that it would be less expensive to try to fix and/or live with the problems they have than to scrap the whole thing and get newer/better software. I'd be curious to know how many disgruntled customers call and complain, compared to how many have come to accept the problems and don't bother to call. And if you do call, does it put any pressure on Carnival to fix the problems?

I hate their website. It used to be great, very descriptive and user friendly. You can barely find a decent picture of the rooms anymore.

Oh good. I thought it was just me. I wanted to "explore" my ship, but all I found was those flip photos that weren't specific to the ship. Just lots of beautiful people having the time of their lives. I don't even know the terminology, so I couldn't question it. It's like it's all graphics, but no text or explanations. More artsy than informative.

No, definitely not just you. You used to be able to see a picture, diagram of the room. The whole website used to be more user friendly, easier to find information, etc.

It stinks, they still haven't fixed the bed selection problem, you can change every day to King and it changes back the next day. Carnival needs to hire a web designer that knows what the heck he is doing, come on Carnival, spend the money and look like you have a clue.

Thanks for this webpage. Just adjusted it for the Splendor. Even though I've cruised many times before, it's really good especially for first timers.
