Boarding Question

When boarding in Ft Lauderdale a couple of weeks ago Princess grouped Elite and Platinum passengers on one side of the terminal, seated in rows. When boarding was announced the Princess rep said they will board by rows The lady next to us asked him if "Black Cards" had priority and he said there was "no difference" Between the cards. She said it took her a lot of cruises and a lot of money to get that card and there certainly is a difference. He again said "there is no difference".

Reading threads like this I'm reminded of why we prefer to get to the port a bit later than most. By the time we get there, boarding has already started and we usually check in and get onboard within 15-20 minutes from curb to cabin. No waiting, no listening for a group to be called, no huge lines.

An hour the first day of the cruise is not going to make or break our experience. We'll continue to arrive at 1 pm.

On my last cruise, January 28, 2012, there was a seperate line for Platinum and Elite check in. This went very smoothly and there was only a short wait to get checked in. This was at FLL. They did board other passengers at the same time but using another line. We landed at the airport at 1100 and were on board no later than 1:00 after a shopping stop for sodas.
