I've swapped systems a few times myself...but currently my setup is:

 

Cameras:

Olympus OM-D E-M1

Olympus OM-D E-M10

 

Lenses:

Samyang 7.5mm f/3.5

Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO

Olympus 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5 (used with Olympus MMF3 adapter)

 

My wife and I are planning a big vacation in 2017 (possibly the Galapagos or Baltic Sea Cruise) and I'm thinking of switching to full frame...possibly the Sony A7 series (I'm a big fan of mirrorless systems).

 

 

Was up early this morning and found a GREAT deal on the Sony A7R Full Frame Mirrorless Camera. Would you believe $199.00 regular $2199.00 from the Sony Store on the internet.

 

Think will try it out and then sell and take my profit, do not want to have to buy all new lenses.

Pentax K-500, formerly K-1. Husband (who doesn't frequent this forum) has several Pentax bodies including the K-3 (and he's saving for a full frame).

 

I use his lenses, and a 40mm pancake lens. Oh, and I have a zoom but I don't remember the specs.

All in a single under the seat backpack with room left for a couple of PowerBars in case I get hungry.

 

I miss the DSLR less and less. :)

I am an Pentaxian from way back!

Currently:

 

• Pentax K-5 - Twin to the K-7 with an updated computer inside
  
• Pentax K-7 - Rock solid ... noisy in low light
  
• Samsung Alpha ... actually my cell but with 16MP it takes some great shots! and the best camera is the one you have with you ;-)
  

Lenses:

 

• Sigma 10-20mm - so happy I got this, Awesome landscape lens!
  
• Pentax 24-90mm - last Pentax lens made for film - works great on a DSLR!
  
• Pentax 50mm - almost as good as the old manual version below
  
• Tamron 28-300mm - great all purpose lens
  
• Sigma 70-300 mm - prefer the Tamron
  

Old Stuff

 

• Pentax ME - cut lawns to buy this when I was a teenager
  
• Pentax P5 - 1 step below the LX which was their pro-level for a long time
  
• Pentax 50mm 1.7 manual - LOVE this lens for color and sharpness

I never had the K-7, passed over it, went from *ist-D to K-10 to K-20 to K-5 to K-5ii to K-3. Currently have one K-3, one 645z, one WG-III. Plus an assortment of lenses of course - all Pentax.

 

Note that with the K-3ii now out there, the K-3 is being discounted by B&H and others. Currently about $750. The AF and low-light capability of the K-3 is lightyears beyond your K-7 or even the K-5. Just something to think about...;)

Sorry - the 645Z is Pentax's 2nd MF digital. First was the 645D 3-4 (?) years ago; the 645Z was introduced a year ago. The firmware is pretty much a clone of what they have in the K-3 APS-C body (modified of course for the larger sensor and larger files.) And the 645Z nee K-3 firmware is superb, squeezes tremendous dynamic range out of a scene, fast autofocus, etc. Well, not "fast" relative to some cameras specialized for high-speed sports, but fast enough. Max ISO is 204,800, definitely usable up to 51,200. A dream camera. Maybe not a practical camera in terms of size, weight, cost and all those other niggling practical considerations, but every silver lining has some black clouds hovering nearby.
