Luggage tags

I went through some of our old roll calls. The link to order them typically appears 7 weeks (49 days) prior to sailing. Not all passengers got the link at the same time - it seemed to take 3-4 days for everyone to get it and I'm not clear as to how Celebrity schedules that. And they usually arrive in less than a week. They send 4 tags per passenger. They are not very sturdy so I recommend not putting them on your luggage until the last time you will handle them prior to handing to the terminal porters.

I just checked on my website for celebrity and today was the first time that I could request luggage tags and I am 42 days out. It finally appeared on the bottom of the page with the notification that our cruise contract was ready to be printed. So did print it and then requested the luggage tags be sent by mail. It said the request will be processed and we should receive them in about a week by mail.

Happy sailing:):):)

Just got my luggage tags in the mail today. It didn't even take a week. They arrived fast. :D:D

Thank you so much for this post, I couldn't for the life of me figure out why I couldn't find the "request" luggage tags button on the Celebrity site - the FAQ's makes it sound so easy, I hadn't seen the time frame anywhere but here!! We're not sailing until June 24, so looks like we still have time -

Thanks again to all for the clarification!!

We did not get ours. I am sure they will come after we leave.

No problem. You can get tags from the porter when you arrive at the pier.

As to the question about WHEN you put them on. If you take a moment to think through this, you will know the answer.

The airline could care less where your stateroom is.

The cabbie that takes you to the hotel (if you go to hotel) could care less.

The hotel could care less.

The only people that need to see a luggage tag are the people on the pier.

Okay, if you decided to spend extra to use cruiseline transfer from the airport to the ship, they will need them for transfer.

I know I am probably the odd one out but I do what is written one the tags and what my TA recommended - if you are flying, put them on when you leave home. They give you lots so if they get damaged you can replace them upon arrival. We put them on the side handles, not the main ones the Airlines use for their own tags. That way, if the luggage gets lost, at least they know where we are and don't send them back to our home address:eek: So with the airline tags saying what port, (ie FLL) and X's tags saying what ship, it just might help if we get separated from our luggage.

Not sure but I think you can request them after final payment, I still cannot request mine until after 18th April.

I was just able to order mine for a 6/11 cruise. When you receive your edocs than you can go one line and get them ordered. You will find the link in the online check in. Hope that helps.

The Celebrity travel specialist who booked me said the only docs I need to bring are my express pass & passports. They had a 40 page online guest book, does anyone print all that out? Hope not, having issues with my printer.

All you need is your Xpress Pass and your passport. Actually, you don't even need your Xpress Pass--they have you in the computer. It just speeds things up and the people behind you in line will thank you. :D

Bon Voyage!

It all seems very random to me. Some people on our roll call have had access to their luggage tags for two or three weeks now. We have not been able to request ours as the link is missing. I phoned Celebrity and they said the labels had been sent out to our TA on Friday 20th. Yesterday they were still missing so the TA phoned Celebrity and was told they went out on Monday 23rd. No sign of them yet. The UK offices are about an hour and a half along the the coast from where we live. Has anyone seen a tortoise with our luggage labels strapped to his back travelling between Southampton and Shoreham-by-Sea?
I do not understand the concept of having to request luggage tags. Everyone needs them so why don't they just send them?
Totally agree with you. Another option is to allow you to print them out like Princess does.

Despite several phone calls to Celebrity from my TA and myself the labels have still not arrived. The latest in a string of different answers is that their computer has a virus and therefore although the request was made twice for labels we will not be getting them as their computer is unable to process the request. I realise we can get them from the pier but why don't Celebrity send out emails to their staff and their customers explaining this to save us all the aggravation we have had. Our TA was not even able to download the the guest ticket booklet because 'Celebrity's computer has a virus'. Our TA is now awaiting another response by Celebrity as to how and when they can download the remaining documents as they are not going to be sent by post now.
