Boarding question

When you get to the check-in desk -- just tell the person there that one of the people in your cabin will arrive later.

If boarding hasn't already started by the time the other person gets there -- you all will get different boarding numbers.

If boarding has started -- then it won't make any difference what numbers you get.

Are you sure about that?..We give our our Credit Card on=line a few weeks before departure & the check in Agents have the number prior to our check-in..

My Friend & I normally wait for our DH's to return the car to the rental agency & each couple then checks in seperately..However, several times we've been told by the Red coated Agents to go on & check in & board..We've waited so long that we've threatened to do just that, when we talked to the Agents handling the lines..

Also for that matter several times it's my Friend & I who have gone to the car rental & we've left our DH's with the carry on-luggage & have told them to check in ahead of us, board the ship & wait for us in the Lido..So far they've lways waited for us...But don't understand why the entire party must check in together if they are on the same credit card..

Why? Since we've been per-registering a card they don't even ask to see it anymore.

You do NOT need to board together at all....if the slowpoke is on your creditcard or other means of payment, tell the clerk. If they have their own form of payment, they'll simply give it when they arrive. Not a big deal at all.

Oh yes forgot about that...The didn't ask for our CC at check-in since they had the number already..

At time of check in you will be given a number.

 

When boarding begins, lowest number will go first. If you want to board together, tell the rest of your party to be there at the same time and you will all get the same number.

If you have more than one person on the same boarding pass, it is a good idea to print an extra copy so you can each have one in case you want to board separately.

 

You would both still be able to board without one as they can look you up, but it helps to expedite the process, especially if you are arriving at the port separately.

 

At some ports, people do not need to show ID to enter the port area, but at other ports security will ask to see something showing that you have a valid reason to be there before they will let you in.

If you can't show appropriate ID but just tell them that you are going on the cruise, then they will probably ask you to step aside and wait while they call the ship or port agent for verification.

 

Since it only takes a few seconds to print a second copy of the boarding pass for the second person, it is easy enough to do it and eliminate any need for concern.

:confused: I never knew you could have more than person on a boarding pass, but we've never had more than two adults in one cabin. Is this done for kids?

We have never had both of our names on the same boarding pass.

Not with the old system when we actually got cruise documents or now with the new system where we print out own Signature Boarding Passes.
