Is Juneau a good port to book a whale watching cruise?

Yes, most certainly Juneau - but don't forget Icy Strait Point (Hoonah) too! Excellent whale watching there is a well!:)

We were in Juneau last July on Celebrity Infinity. We did an independent tour which we booked when we got off the ship. Cost was a lot cheaper than the ship tours and you had plenty of choice. We saw loads of humpbacks and it was a spectacle we will never forgot. Hope you have as good a time as we did.

Our operator was so confident, they said "if we don't see whales, everybody gets a shiny new $100 bill as they walk off the boat".

 

Apologies for the dizzy camera work by my DW, I was busy with the Nikon & telephoto lens (you can hear me snapping away in the back).
