Hoyaheel Posted May 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2012 I need new black shoes (because apparently none of the 6 pairs I have will work:rolleyes:) I need a professional look (though not a suit) I plan to wear a slim fit black ankle pant (similar to these but the exact ones aren't on the Talbots website any longer, and a long cardigan sweater: http://www.chicos.com/store/browse/product.jsp?maxRec=84&pageId=1&viewAll=true&productId=570039976&prd=Travelers+Collection+Milly+Maxi+Sweater&subCatId=cat3650002&color=&fromSearch=true&inSeam=&posId=45&catId=cat4809275&cat=&onSale=true&colorFamily=&maxPg=1&size= I have nice sandals but think they'll be too casual (ok for work every day, not for a conference) I have black ballet flats and black wedges, but they feel too wintery. So I'm thinking open toe. But do I want a wedge? Like this: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/softspots-lebeau-wedge-sandal/3269855?origin=category&resultback=918 Softspots are very comfortable for me and I own several pairs. Or do I want a ballet flat? http://www.colehaan.com/colehaan/catalog/product.jsp?catId=100&productId=522581&productGroup=522579
GrammieK Posted May 1, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2012 I vote for the ballet flat, but would go with a closed toe if you want a more professional look. Coach has some really cute one and so does Anne Klein, which I find more comfortable.
Hoyaheel Posted May 1, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted May 1, 2012 No, I have 4 pairs of closed toe ballet flats already (and in fact, last May, traveled with these pants and one of those pairs). I want something cooler for my upcoming conference (cooler in temp....:p) There are other open toe ballet flats a little dressier than the Cole Haan I posted. Hoyaheel Posted May 2, 2012 Author #10 Share Posted May 2, 2012 Is this for a cruise????? No, it's not for a cruise. But if I say that, my post gets moved. I was trying to be subtle about it:rolleyes:
Alrana Eris Posted May 2, 2012 #11 Share Posted May 2, 2012 Professional yep those will do it. I wear shoes like that every day for work. I prefer flats because of constant walking and standing. My advice is also put a very thin insole(CVS, Walgreen's any drug store sells them.) so there's some cushion in my step. Your good with those choices. Hoyaheel Posted May 3, 2012 Author #12 Share Posted May 3, 2012 The Cole Haan outlet near me didn't have anything I was interested in, but I'm heading to Williamsburg this weekend so I might try to pop over to the Cole Haan outlet there and see if they have anything that would work for this outfit (I almost said "anything cute" but I *know* they'll have cute stuff - but I'm trying to limit my search at this point:p) If I don't find anything at the outlet, I just got a 20% discount coupon from shoebuy.com so I'll order something next week. Thanks for the input!

Hoyaheel Posted May 3, 2012 Author #14 Share Posted May 3, 2012 We have a DSW (near work at least - not very close to home) - I was there a couple weeks ago. Didn't see anything I wanted.
