crusinpeg Posted May 4, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 4, 2012 Is the MDR open for lunch on the Freedom the days the ship is in port? The RCCL rep told me yes, but I just read where someone posted it was not? Also how about on embarkation day?
sjb317 Posted May 4, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 4, 2012 No, it's not open on port days or embarkation day. Sherri:)
Puffinater Posted May 4, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 4, 2012 Typically the MDR on all RCI ships is not open for lunch on port days or on embarcation day. Don't ever recall seeing it open.
Clarea Posted May 4, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 4, 2012 The only exception I've seen on embarkation day is between certain B2B cruises. A special lunch might be offered to the small number of people doing B2B cruises. We experienced this on Adventure last March.
crusinpeg Posted May 4, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted May 4, 2012 Thanks for the prompt responses...too bad they didn't tell this to the service rep who answers your questions when you call!
RMH Posted May 4, 2012 #6 Share Posted May 4, 2012
Thanks for the prompt responses...too bad they didn't tell this to the service rep who answers your questions when you call!
That is a whole other topic. I think the correct response ratio for RCL service reps is less than 40%. So you would have better odds flipping a coin and getting a correct answer than calling the service reps. No idea why they are so bad, but they are.
BND Posted May 4, 2012 #7 Share Posted May 4, 2012 Only sea days. The MDR is not open on embarkation days, unless there is a special lunch as a previous poster mentioned. We loved FOS and had lunch in the MDR a couple of times. We try to eat lunch in the MDR at least a couple of times each trip, especially on the day they have catfish on the menu.
