Grand Suite Benefits

Is there a refrigerator(not a cooling one), but a regular mini fridge in the grand suites?

The bathroom for the GS is awesome. It is very big and has 2 sinks. The bathroom products in our GS last week on Mariner were Gilchrist & Soames. We also enjoyed ordering room service from the full MDR menu. Enjoy:)

So can u go into the speciality restaurant for breakfast? Noticed someone mentioned they had cooks to order breakfast in chops??

 

I am so excited for our Grand Suite - it'll be 18 months of saving and a real once n a lifetime opportunity for us :)

A good thing I learned on my last cruise in a grand suite was the coffee

maker was on the dressing table. It can be moved to the bar area as there

is a plug for it there. Much more convenient and more room.:)

Each ship is a little different. On Mariner, Gold card holders could order breakfast in Chops, even on debarkation day. On sea days we could order lunch, but it was only grilled chicken, salmon or steak with vegetables. There was also a small buffet with cold meats and cheeses and desserts. Every day we could bring in food from WJ for breakfast and lunch.

We're going to be on the Indy, read so many different things its difficult to know which applies - breakfast/lunch in concierge lounge or specialty restaurant and taking buffet breakfast into the speciality restaurant.

I would say that a constant on a Voyager or Freedom class ship is that Gold Seapass holders can bring food from WJ into Chops or Giovanni's Table/Portofinos for breakfast and lunch. On Radiance class ships I've found that they have made to order breakfast in Chops. Specialty restaurants on this class are not close to WJ. Hope you have a great cruise:)

Thank you, im sure we will really looking forward to it but just hope we not too spoiled with the Grand Suite - i can't afford to sail in one of those every time :eek:

We are booked in a 2 bedroom suite and noticed that they listed internet access.

 

Does this mean free internet access or that it is available and you still need to pay for that?

Were these all inclusive? Did you buy any drinks packages on top and do you think that they were good value/needed?

We have two teenagers and will be in a GS. it's a great experience.

 

As for drinks packages we will buy the basic coke package so that soft drinks are available to us all. We like a drink before dinner and the concierge lounge provides this brilliantly.....a G&T before dinner(or two) and if you time it right maybe a cognac afterwards......

 

We will take on board 2 bottles of wine and they will do us for dinner for two nights. Or 4 if we stretch it out. The waiter will look after the open bottle for you.

 

We will then but random drinks in bars when required. No expensive drinks package.

 

However if you want to drink cocktails or alcohol by the pool or late in the clubs or casino or bars then you might not be satisfied with the cocktail hour fix!

 

Whatever you choose.....have a fab cruise! Is it your first? If it is you will not want to stay in any other stateroom next time!

 

Another perk is a private sun lounger area by the pool for suite guests only. You stand out like a sore thumb with your gold towels but you don't have to chair hog or beat the Germans to the pool.......have fun!

I forgot to mention a big, not perk but AWESOME thing about a GS suite, the bathroom. The bathroom in the GS suite is incredible. It was huge, the shower was huge with a big kinda shelf in front for storing all your products. That bathroom was amazing, I can't imagine the bathrooms in the rooms that are even bigger and expensive.

 

They have bidets. :D
