Gracie115 Posted June 14, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2012 HI- Booking a stateroom for my sister in law who smokes and is interested in a Central Park Balcony view room on Oasis. I didn't think you could smoke on those balconies facing into the ship....is that true? Thanks
praline3001 Posted June 14, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2012 Nope. Fleet wide the rule is you can only smoke on ocean view balconies. She will be fined a lot of money if she smokes on a central park balcony.

praline3001 Posted June 14, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 14, 2012 How much? Just curious. $250 but I think that is per time you are caught so you can't pay the $250 fine and smoke the whole week in your room :D

sullyair Posted June 14, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 14, 2012 I used to smoke and I never wanted to bother anyone on the ship. I used to go to the casino to have a smoke. Anyone who care you smoke in a casino, needs to go somewhere else.
Gracie115 Posted June 14, 2012 Author #9 Share Posted June 14, 2012 Thanks for all your responses...she will stick with a balcony that looks at the ocean...which is fine...she never had any intention of breaking rules...that's why I asked.....:)
freeruthie Posted June 14, 2012 #10 Share Posted June 14, 2012 There are deck chairs and ashtrays on some of the aft balconies. They are public but not many people go out there at any one time. It would be a good alternative to stinking up Central Park. There are also more populated smoking areas on the port side on the pool decks along with really nice places to sit. We have a myriad of casinos within a 1-2 hour drive but patronize Empire in Yonkers because it is 100% smoke-free.

I tried them ONCE and was bored out of my mind If you are waiting for X to get rock walls/flowriders/zip lines and carousels....I'm afraid you may have a long wait....... We love X and like Royal too....just different lines with different kinds of fun, but we were never bored on an X cruise..... AND they have a great smoking policy.... brmoqueen Posted June 15, 2012 #19 Share Posted June 15, 2012 I think the main issue with smoking on the inside balcony's is a fire hazard moreso than on oceanview balcony... Get a different room... Why risk it???
