KG1924 Posted June 15, 2012 #26 Share Posted June 15, 2012 At night on the ship, I always carry a little clutch or wristlet for the seapass, cigarettes (), camera, and chapstick. During the day (at sea or at port) I usually carry around a beach bag or a larger tote/purse for sunscreen, towels and sea passes. However, our last two cruises started off with me breaking the strap on the tote I planned on using for the entire trip before we even got on the ships!! (I had gotten the bag repaired in between the cruises....apparently not well enough!) I was so disappointed, but found out how nice it is to have my husband lug around all of our stuff! He uses a backpack for his carry on for the flights, so we now use that as our "tote". Ours is a North Face bag that has a zippered pocket that is the exact size for a sea pass. I love it, especially when walking around the ports...I no longer have to carry around a heavy tote on one shoulder...my husband takes all of it on both of his :p The only thing I worry about is somebody getting into it behind him if we aren't paying attention, but we don't really keep anything valuable in there...although if someone stole our sea pass while in port that could be a disaster!! gdpups Posted June 15, 2012 #27 Share Posted June 15, 2012 I used to use a lanyard, but I found the most perfect thing for me is (below). It is the perfect size to fit the card, plus several others if I go ashore and I either clip it to the inside of my pocket or the inside of my waistband and know it's secure. I'd include a picture, but can't figure out how to do it! Amazon carries them or just google it to see what they look like. I don't always travel with the hubby, so this works great for me. teajak Posted June 15, 2012 #29 Share Posted June 15, 2012 After 2 cruises of having to go to Guest Services and getting my card replaced because it became demagnetized, I stopped putting it in my pocket and now use a lanyard during the day around the ship (once I'm off the ship I put it in whatever crossbody bag I'm using for excursions) but in the evening I use a small Coach bag that can be a purse or a wristlet. I HAVE to have my lip stuff with me and the list of activities for the evening!I found out the hard way about this.If you have a hip replacement don't carry your card in your pocket, the titanium demagnetizes it.
aurelius180 Posted June 15, 2012 #30 Share Posted June 15, 2012 I think I'll use my husband's pockets (until he gets irritated) for the evening, or a small bag. That's what my wife does! :D She doesn't need her seapass that much onboard because I'm usually with her and will use mine for drinks, etc. If I'm in the casino or something and she wants to walk around she'll just carry it. But for the most part it's in my pocket.
ninnau Posted June 15, 2012 #31 Share Posted June 15, 2012 Is there a hole in it for string to tie or clip it to something? Is it on a lanyard? Thanks! I have a sunglass case that hangs around my neck. I put the pass in that.
Lady_Gamecock Posted June 15, 2012 #32 Share Posted June 15, 2012 For my last cruise, I purchased a cute Coach Lanyard from our local Coach Outlet ($20). Normally, I'm always looking for it; searching pockets, yelling at the DH, etc. This time, it was very easy to know where it was. During dinner, or at night, I purchased a Coach Wristlet ($20) and carried it with my lipstick, makeup, room card, etc. Was cute with the outfits and I could carry everything in one little pocketbook. Happy Cruising! Lady_G
Jayfo Posted June 15, 2012 #33 Share Posted June 15, 2012 I use a lot of Thirty One items for traveling... here's a wristlet wallet... LMK if you'd like more information or a catalog :D
bighairtexan Posted June 15, 2012 #34 Share Posted June 15, 2012 I put it in my cleavage. That way I never "set it down and forget it". My BF calls it my glove box as I keep quite a lot in my bra! Don't leave home w/o it!!! ;-)
bgyoshi Posted June 15, 2012 #35 Share Posted June 15, 2012 I go the lanyard route but wear it under my clothes so it isn't seen. If I have on a "tank top," then I tie the lanyard to my bra strap to hang down my side. I had to laugh with everyone that said they give it to their husbands to carry. For years when our family (DH and two DS) would do land tours, I'd get "Mom, put this in your purse or tote." I finally got wise and only carried a small, cross chest purse with no room in it other than for MY stuff. I'm a little slow sometimes. Tucker in Texas THIS! I used to carry around these big purses and I'd end up holding stuff for everyone! I've learned my lesson! Small bag for my stuff and that's it! Rare DragonOfTheSeas Posted June 15, 2012 #37 Share Posted June 15, 2012 I think that age/job experience has something to do with this. (Please do not flame me!!) Although DH and I are old enough to be retired, we were teachers and had to wear a picture ID for security in schools. Many (if not most) people today also have to wear IDS at work. For them wearing a Sea Pass card on a Lanyard is not a big deal. In the past this was not as much the norm in the workplace. I have a clear plastic sleeve that is attached to a beaded necklace. I put the Sea Pass card in it for day time. I put it in a beach/pool bag if I am carrying one or wear it if I am not. (beads make it easy to find in the bag) I use an evening bag at night, as do many women.

hbr777 Posted June 15, 2012 Author #43 Share Posted June 15, 2012 Thanks for all of the excellent suggestions. I really like the Vera Bradley ideas, as well as the general wristlet ideas. I realize that my Baggalini City Bagg has a thing with a small window for a card so maybe I'll use that. In the evening, I need some sort of small bag. I generally get stuck with the camera, too :)

plantlady095 Posted June 15, 2012 #45 Share Posted June 15, 2012 I have the purser punch a hole when I board the ship. Then, I have an assortment of lanyards that I change with outfits if I feel fashionable. My favorite way to carry it is on a coiled wrist key loop. I have bought 2 for a dollar at Dollar Tree or Wal-Mart. I also have a recoiling belt clip that is super for the card. My DH brought one home from his office when I was teaching and found that my ID was not in the way when clipped to my waistband. It works great on the ship, too. I really enjoyed reading what others do with their seapass. :)
lady_cruiser Posted June 15, 2012 #46 Share Posted June 15, 2012 Is there a hole in it for string to tie or clip it to something? Is it on a lanyard? Thanks! We use a bracelet mate. Its a small wrist wallet that has a beaded bracelet. The beads are on top of your wrist and the wallet on the inside towards your body so it is sort-of hidden from view. We even use it when going on shore. It holds our sea pass card, driver's license, credit card and folding money. We buy ours online from Canele Originals. sleepless Posted June 16, 2012 #47 Share Posted June 16, 2012 I carry mine several ways. 1. On the ship, during the day, I use a lanyard. 2. In the pool, I use a braided wristlet 3. At night, I carry it is a small evening bag 4. In port, it is tucked away in a small purse.
SusieV Posted June 16, 2012 #48 Share Posted June 16, 2012 I carry a purse most of the time onboard. It has my camera, sunscreen, a book, my Seapass, and assorted random crap that I think I need. More stuff than would fit in a wristlet (and frankly I don't like the look of those anyway). I have a pretty cool tropical style purse with bamboo handles and woven straw in bright colours that I always take on cruises.
co2stay Posted June 16, 2012 #49 Share Posted June 16, 2012 I have something like the Vera Bradley that is my traveling wallet. Just room for ID, medical ID, couple of credit cards and my sea pass card. Couple of bucks will fit in it too. That can go into a pocket, tote, backpack, pac-safe - whatever we are taking for the day. On board, it fits into a pocket and when off the ship, goes into whatever. I used to travel with baggelini, have a couple of different sizes. Now I have two sizes of pac-safe purses and DH has pac-safe daypack. We don't have to worry about someone opening it behind us. My City-pac is big enough that either my dslr or my tablet fits along with my other necessities. Both is kind of a stretch though.
