Midnight Buffet

Really! I tried the search function before posting since I figure someone would have talked about this before, but nothing came up.

 

I haven't heard any talk about the infamous midnight buffet where we wait in line to take photos and then to get our food. We have late seating, so I highly doubt I'll be hungry, BUT I know I'd be curious to look and at least get some fruit (pineapple? mango?). I'll be on the Infinity. Will there be midnight buffet?

Yes, there is a midnight buffet. Despite some rumors you will read Celebrity has not intention of discontinuing this. It is considered a "brand signature" event.

Celebrity has a midnight buffet but only on some nights. There is the real fancy midnight buffet that is held on the final formal evening of the cruise (people line up to take pictures first, etc etc). Other midnight buffet nights have a theme like Tex-Mex.

 

A few years ago, Celebrity began doing away with having midnight buffets every night and on those select nights they replaced them with something called "Gourmet Bites" which consisted of having hors' dourves served by waiters in select public rooms.

I took photos of the gala midnight buffet on the Century. We also had second seating. I was too full to stay after the photo session to try anything.

On both my sailing (Mercury California Coastal and Century E.Carib)

we had Gala Buffet and Caribbean night (with buffet).

Great to know in case I'm, uh, still hungry! :-) It's actually a good thing that it's not every night, but also good to know that the photo first thing isn't every time either.
