What do you wish NCL ships had that they don't have?

I love NCL but it would be nice if they could install a better air purification system in the casino area. Also an enclosed adult pool area (like RCCL has). No corkage fee for wine to be consumed in the cabin only. Increased adult comedy shows in the lounges at night. More trivia and less art auctions.

I'd like to see faster internet, at more reasonable prices and maybe smaller units of time, or at least offer on the longer cruises the smaller packages that are offered on the shorter cruises (ie 60 minutes for $24). Not that I want to spend my entire cruise online, but it would be nice to be able to do a little research or send an email without paying the exorbitant prices they charge. And the glacial speed of the connection makes it an even worse value.

Wow... this has been an excellent thread. No bickering and nonsense, just great ideas and feedback for NCL. They do read this, so you never know :) Here are some of my thoughts:

- Desserts in the main dining room are pretty bad. They should look into that. Just lacking flavor.

- Main dining room food has gone downhill. Hoping it doesn't get any worse with cost-cutting. I do have to say that the food on the Epic in the main dining room wasn't bad at all. I think the entire experience in the MDR is hit or miss. Sometimes you feel rushed, sometimes you can't get a server... service quality is also hit or miss (and I think NCL's service is actually really good overall). Yes, it's better than cooking and eating at home, but they need to be careful to make sure they aren't serving Applebee's. I think some small tweeks can take care of this all.

- Love the idea about being able to go to the specialty restaurants for dessert only. I would pay for some of those incredible desserts.

- Something should be done to give more adults-only areas (with enforcement). I usually get a spa pass, but it would nice for NCL to have a Sanctuary, ala Princess. Not that I have ever been to the Sanctuary on Princess, but it looks nice. Even having adults only lounges/shows would be a plus.

- I would like to see some more areas like The Great Outdoors where people can eat outside. I know Breakaway will have a fee-restaurant that has outdoor seating... that is a plus.

- Movies Under the Stars... would love to have that. I wouldn't want it to replace the pool band... love listening to the pool bands.

- Atriums... I want more beautiful soaring atriums instead of the hotel lobby thing NCL is doing now on the Pearl-class and Epic ships. I want to feel luxury with sea views... not a dark casino feeling - think the Celebrity Millenium class ship lobbies... wow.

Hope it doesn't seem like I am anti-NCL... because I'm not. About to go on the Gem out of NYC and couldn't be more psyched. These are just some thoughts on how to make the NCL experience even better.

Need a laundry to wash some clothes that I want to wear again. It beats doing it in my cabin's bathroom sink. Use some dish detergent, and put the clothes in a half gallon ziploc bag. Shake it up, like a washing machine. Take it out and rinse.

The only thing bad about a self service laundry are the fights between passengers about who is using the washer and dryer.

I really miss the speciality Mexican restaurant. I really love that food.

They had a laundry on the jewel and pearl but passengers trashed it so bad they had to stop and close it. Seems no one can read directions  It was great when it was new used it a lot but then came the floods too much soap, putting soap in wrong opening, pax using own soap instead of he provided. Sad the a few ruined it for everyone

I know what I want isn't cost effective so I will likely never see this unless I start cruising luxury lines, but I would like them to stop building massive ships and putting in tons of cabins that hold too many people. In short, I want less crowding.

1- Mexican Restaurant

2- A specialty coffee program pay one price such as the UBP (my daughter would love this)

3- Room service and get a full hot breakfast delivered to cabin

4- Reserved chairs/lounges (my sister in law love this) get same one each day

5-Wine and beer package (other than the UBP)

6- Snacks served in casino

7- bags of chips at all bars

**FANTASY BAND CAMP where people pay and get to play in the band with somebody famous. My other half pay anything for this lol.

Movie screen on deck like Princess has, it is one of my favorite things about Princess.

Bigger or more pools. Loungers around the pool instead of just tables and chairs

Hot tubs open earlier and later

More selection to the room service breakfast menu. Loved HALS room service menu and anyone in any cabin could order anything they wanted from the MDR to be delivered to the room

ah yes! ditto for an expanded room service menu for breakfast- and lunch too along with the idea from HAL to get anything served at the MDR as room delivered as room service regardless of the cabin category would be a big bonus.

Not crazy about movie screens around the pool in daytime. Prefer the band.

1. More craft classes: something other than napkin folding and towel animals:p Many years ago, on an NCL Wind Hawaiian cruise, they offered a lot of free/small fee classes with local crafts: lei making, kukui nut necklaces. I know it won't appeal to everyone, but I think a lot of people would enjoy it and be willing to pay for the materials.

2. Education classes: photography, computers, cooking, photoshop, etc. The NCL photographers used to lead photo classes

3. Speakers from the places we're visiting: local history, what life used to be like, what daily life is like now, insider's views

A treat your steward and/or waiter to dinner is a wonderful idea! We had an awesome waiter on the Star last October who was outstanding...I also had a great steward while on a Celebrity ship last February..

  • Better baked goods, especially desserts-- I would pay extra. NCL's desserts are so blah that I actually tried to bring a fancy cake on board with me last cruise. Turns out cakes are as forbidden as booze-- the cake police caught me!!:p
  • Comedy shows for kids (other than Nick)-- DS10 LOVES Second City and would go to even more shows if he could!
  • More adults-only quiet space.
  • I like the idea of having the option to sit with other people sometimes-- it's not that you can't now, but it seems that it's not really done. It would be nice if restaurant hosts asked you when possible.
