What do you wish NCL ships had that they don't have?

What do you wish NCL ships had that they don't already have? I saw this thread over on the RCCL board that asks the same question and thought it was fun: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1673678

It's interesting that a lot of things the RCCL'ers wished for are already on NCL ships, like Teppanyaki, alcohol packages for staterooms, pub food, etc. Guess NCL is ahead of the curve!

So what would YOU like to see on NCL ships that they don't already have? We're talking actual things, not concepts (i.e. "no smoking," or "better food").

Here's what I wish for:

-I love the idea of a lazy river that keeps getting brought up on the RCCL thread... no idea how the logistics of that would work but it would be awesome!

-Pools open LATE, until 2am.

-Swim-up bars

-Howl at the Moon on every ship! (my favorite thing about the Epic!)

How about you guys?

Here's my wish list:

Bigger Pools

An open air theater like carnival - at night we would watch movies on the pool deck they gave people blankets and had popcorn.

A real dancing with the stars show, where the pros really know how to ballroom dance or pro dance classes.

A dessert shop or better desserts

Wine & Tapas bar.

Better children's program

But I'm quite happy with all they offer but if I had the power, this would be it.

I like your ideas. A tapas bar would be really cool. There was one on the Jade but I didn't think it was very good. Maybe it's because I had been spoiled by all the great tapas in Barcelona for a few days before boarding. :)

I'm quite happy with NCL as well (the Epic was the best ship I've ever been on), but I think it's fun to dream up what the next megaship might have in store for us.

I see you will be boarding the Epic the day that I will be forced to leave it; I'm on the sailing right before you. Hope you have a blast!

Hi dos equis!

I thought of booking the week you are on the Epic since my daughter would only miss 2 days of school vs. 5 but it was about $600 more. I wonder what thanksgiving is like on a cruise, I've done a christmas one and it was awesome would love to do another.

I too had a wonderful trip on the Epic can't wait to sail her again:)

I think offering the Chef's Table twice on a 7 night cruise would be awesome.

A Craft Beer Bar - their regular selection would be served at all the other bars, but craft beers local to the port of embarkation (i.e. - Cigar City Brewing in Tampa) would only be served there.

Cooking Class. It wouldn't be hard to set up a rechaud or two or more, plus some cutting boards/knives in some area on the ship and teach those of us who love to cook some of their recipes.

Treat your steward to dinner. We always fill out the STYLE cards for people that have treated us well on the cruise. It would be nice to take them to dinner one night - the last steward we had was absolutely awesome, and we always enjoy learning about where they're from, family, what brought them to NCL, etc... I don't think there'd be a crap ton of people taking their stewards to dinner, but it would be nice to have the option or an organized way to do it without impacting the work skeds or other cruisers.

I wish NCL would build a ship with 2 casinos. One that allows smoking and one that doesn't.

Love kids, but would like one or 2 venues for adults only. A fancy restaurant and/or spa area.

Better tv selection. Ok, this one is for my mom. She cruises for the ship. Wouldn't care if all days were sea days. She really likes tv. Even in a suite at sea.

Better desserts. I'll go for that. How about a real creamery. I miss the souffles. I miss the cream

Soups, (I know in the buffet, but not the same really).

Better bingo. Of all 4 lines NCL is worst. Costs most, pays less. A lot of hype for a game or two. Another one for mom.

I think NCL is working on the chair hog thing. Glad for that.

I applaud NCL for the great suite perks and adding Chef's table. Love it!

i second, third better desserts....even in the speciality res they are not very good

I guess I'm the only one that loves their desserts. The Panna Cotta, Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Cake, Caramel Flan, or Key Lime Pie for me in the MDR. In the specialty restaurants? I always get the cheese plate with a shot of Chambord.

Damn, I wonder when my wife's underway schedule will allow for another cruise... I'm getting the itch!

Late night adult comedians.

One hot breakfast option on the room service menu for regular rooms.

Better cheesecake in the MDR.

Allow a 'special occasion' bottle of wine brought on with no fee.

I am pretty happy with NCL overall but there are always some little tweaks that canmake things better :)

self serve washers and dryers (small fee for use is okay). I don't always use them, but I feel better when they're there.

Self serve washers and dryers are also on my wish list...fee for use is okay with me, too.

I wish NCL would build a ship with 2 casinos. One that allows smoking and one that doesn't.

...

Separate casinos are on my wish list as well.

Another item on my wish list is NCL serving Diet Cakes similar to those served on Carnival (Diet Orange, Diet Coconut, Diet Mango, Diet Banana) and Royal Caribbean (Diet Coconut, and possibly others). I love NCL, but I really miss the delicious diet cakes!!!

I love NCL's dessert with the Chocolate Mousse and their Creme Brulee with the chocolate layer. Had both of those in the main dining room.

I answered this on the RCL board too. Here's my list edited for NCL:

My favorites from other posters on the original thread:

1. lazy river (this may not be logistically possible but wouldn't it be awesome!

2. waterpark in all ships

3. self serve laundry

4. in-room coffee maker or keurig

5. better (free) coffee

Also:

1. the option for traditional dining (same waiter each night who can anticipate your needs)

2. the option of expedited meals in the MDR

2. cs reps that are knowledgeable and reliable

3. enclosed pool area (open to ALL ages) for ships that routinely sail out of New England

4. ice skating rink

5. roller blading track

6. lower room:steward ratios so service is better

7. lower table:server ratios so service is better

8. royal promenade (like on RCL voyager class)

9. better layout of buffet to decrease lines

I wish NCL ships had the option to go to Half Moon Cay like Carnival and HAL! Maybe carnival would rent it out or timeshare it.

I'm not looking forward to the GSC because I have already been spoiled!

I've seen all the picts and plans -- and I like my private island to be LOW on activity and HIGH on relaxation!

And rated high for the natural beauty = that helps!

More plug-ins in the staterooms. When the Star was refurbished in 2010 and built several new suites on deck 12, they put in several plug ins - GREAT move! But I wish all of the other rooms had more than one as well.

I love to have a place to walk all around the ship outside such as the Lanai on the Carnival Magic (I think the Carnival Breeze also has it). A good place to walk and enjoy the view, ahhhhhhh! :D

I didn't like the jogging track on the Epic, you can't see out with all the life boats.

The Epic is the only ship that I know of in NCL fleet that does not have a promenade deck.
