dkjretired Posted July 26, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2012 Are men allow to wear dress shorts in the evening to go to the theater. They request "smart casual" every night in the theater which according to Celebrity's dress code means pants... You will probably get other opinions posted but remember these are only opinions, below is Celebrity policy. Note: T-shirts, swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps and pool wear are not allowed in the main restaurant or specialty restaurants at any time. Shorts and flip-flops are not allowed in the evening hours. As a courtesy to our guests, we respectfully require and enforce compliance with the dress code at the entrance of your restaurant of choice. We thank you, in advance, for your cooperation and understanding. Additionally, guests are asked to follow the "Smart Casual & Above" dress code in the Celebrity Theater for all evening performances. http://www.celebritycruises.com/footer/faqResults.do?faqSubjectName=Dress+Code&faqId=478&faqSubjectId=

Orator Posted July 26, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 26, 2012 This will be Our first cruise on Celebrity So I don't believe it is a dress code UGH .Just want to follow the rules not to be insulted. Good information is always helpful I understand and appreciate your purpose in asking and in no way intended to insult you. We've had many threads asking if it's okay to wear (you can fill in the blank). These threads have become quite nasty with those who say "follow the cruise rules" on one side and those who say "it's my cruise" on the other. Many, including me, no longer wish to engage in this type of debate. Don provided the specific answer in citing Celebrity's specific policy. Finis. Most certainly enjoy your first Celebrity cruise. It will be a wonderful experience and I'm sure you'll return for more Celebrity cruises.

Is this only referring to the restaurants at night? It sounds like I won't be able to wear shorts or flops at the casino, bars, or simply walk around the ship during the evening hours. Someone please explain! I too, am NOT attempting to spark a debate! I'm new to Celebrity also and like the OP, I simply want to make sure that I adhere to the rules. Greetings You can't wear shorts and flip flops to speciality restaurants or the theater. You are free to wear shorts and flip flops during the evening at other venues such as the casino, shops, oceanview cafe, or simply strolling the decks. Rare cruisestitch Posted July 26, 2012 #8 Share Posted July 26, 2012 It is poorly written, but the gist is that it's "Smart Casual" and above for the theater every night. "Smart casual and above" involves slacks and collared shirts for men, no shorts or flip flops or beachwear. That is not to say that you will never see anyone in shorts in the evening, but there will be very few, unless there is a late night poolside party, for instance, where Caribbean music and fare are the norm.
