Thanks everyone for the great information! I am very interested in booking a M6 suite on deck 8. The mini suite with the large balcony is very appealing. Does anyone see any negatives to this category? Looking at the pictures, they have not completed the railings. I'm concerned if there will be an obstruction to our view. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Gambee,

Can you locate my studio cabin...11569

Thanks

Portia

Ah HA! This is a trick question, cuz studios are interior ;);). Which makes it kinda difficult for Gambee to generate one of his classic photo-w/circle images :D;):D (and I'm assuming you know this studio cabin is interior, yes? :o)

We are booked on an M6 for 5/19, and I'm so pysched about it. Initially, the only negatives that came from the ol' peanut gallery on when I first posted about this in this thread were the "lack of privacy from above" and "possible noise from below?" comments. But here's the way I look at it (and others have said similar): unless you typically eating your room service balcony breakfasts au naturel, privacy shouldn't be an issue for anybody. And worst case, I like to think of it this way: if I'm out there enjoying a drink on my huge, phenomenal balcony, and people above are at me, I like to think they are only looking on with envy wishing their balcony was as big and awesome as mine, hehehe . On a related note, some may be concerned about the possibility of smokers depositing ash from above, but keep this in mind - these balconies are all the way forward, so realistically unless the balcony directly above yours drops some ash, there would really be no way that ash would make it to your area due to the wind (obviously different story while in port, but still a minor concern).

And lastly, regarding the possibility of noise from below - the only thing below the cabins at that extreme forward area of the ship is the backstage area of the theater. The theater itself, as well as the Bliss Lounge, are much further aft relative to the forward (M6) rooms, so I very highly doubt you'll hear any noise coming from that part of the ship. And as far as from above, nothing about you there except more balconies ;).

So to me, assuming you are ok with the slightly higher price, it seems to be a no brainer with these M6 cabins. And of course one huge plus is the unbeatable location, right down the hall on deck 8 from the main shopping/restaurant area of the ship, as well as on the same deck as the Waterfront :D. I'm also looking forward to the balcony in particular, as I think it should provide a very unique outside-looking-in feel in very much the same way that NCL is touting the Waterfront itself.

So I just emailed my PCC and let him now that our group discussed it and we are willing to allow the Upgrade fairy to visit us to make more room for the incoming Carnival guests that decide to jump ship. :D Think he'll buy it? Hmmm.....

Hi Portia,

Nice one, I was about to start looking for the room when I noticed you said studio :D, not much I can do there, lol.

Happy sailings.

Exterior photos of the ship, would make it hard to point out the interior rooms.

Though my family now has three balconies on Deck 11. I believe we are 11864, 11866 and 11868. I am hoping they are a bit more in the aft, though their description says midship. If you would like to circle those for me would be neat, thanks!!! Though I am not sure you have that side of the ship.

Who's bump ?

bumping is done to bring old threads back. Once the user say the thread on page two, he/she bumped it to page one.

I have done it a couple of times when I needed answers and no one had answered them yet.

Back in June 2010 when Norwegian Epic did the Transatlantic from Southampton to Manhattan they were unable to berth at Pier 88 due to Epics lifeboats getting in the way. They had to release the lifeboats and moor them on the opposite berth, before Epic could berth.

I sure hope Breakaways lifeboats will not get in the way.

Any sign of the new passenger boarding bridges(PBB's)?

The PBBs will provide seamless access for cruise guests from Manhattan cruise terminal building to NCL’s Breakaway.

You're correct there are really not many pictures (Andreas) from the starboard side, so I had to work with one of his XX size pictures and crop.

They are in the process of installing new gangways at pier 88 to address that issue. Lifeboats will no be a problem for the Breakaway.

If you're looking into being directly under the pool casino you would need room 14172 or 14174. I would not move to a lower number room, you will be further away. Why not move to deck 13? that way you don't have to worry about noise?

Please don't throw me under a bus for this, but this thread has become the "please find my cabin, Gambee" thread. Hopefully Gambee does not mind, but is spending a huge amount of time doing this.

If you spend the time to read through this thread, you should be able to pull up the deck plan, look at the lovely, crisp photos provided so kindly by Andreas, and figure it out yourself. I personally find that to be half of the fun. All you need to do is count decks and in from the front or back, not very difficult. They may have changed some of the public areas since the original deck plans, but staterooms are basically set.

:) ;)

Although I have to say that without simple cabin talk, this thread might see itself with a lack of topic other than the daily NCL facebook updates and Loungez great but occasional inside pics.

The spa mini's appear to only be on Deck 14. And they only go up to 14170 on the port side. We are considering 14170 for a cruise on Getaway next year. Do you think noise from above will be an issue? When lining up the deck plans on cruisedeckplans.com, the room looks to be just partially below the casino, and also partially below a hot tub. How much noise comes down through the deck? What about room 14152, it is below the stairs to the upper sun deck, I wonder if that would be better?

Unfortunately whatever I tell you would be speculation. I have lots of Celebrity reviews and a good amount of people complain about noise when on the top deck.

The ship is not sailing yet so we dont even know the organization of that area. But that is something that I will keep an eye for once I sail and report back. It is a shame that those are the only cabins for that category, very much like Aqua in Celebrity.

Understood. My wife really wants to do the spa-mini, but we are both late sleepers, so it is a bit of a toss-up.. I think we'll probably just wait to hear the reports before we book, since we're not looking to go until next March. Or I suppose we could just book it now and then change the room/cabinclass later if it seems like people are reporting the noise being an issue. Hopefully the deck between 14 and 15 is nice and thick to block out the noise! :)

Thank you,

Will look forward to the Arrival on 7th May. It was hilarious on The Epic for us on board, but obviously not for the Captain at the time.

We had Empire State of Mind by Alicia Keys played over the speakers. It really was great

hope they play the same music this time

Ok so on to a new topic, lol. Geoffrey Zakarian that hotty silver fox guy who is going to put in Ocean Blue...is supposed to be featured in his restaurant but obviously he cannot cruise all the time so I wonder if there will be other big name chefs working for him. Also cake boss cannot be on every sailing. I see a lot of family members of these people getting nice cruises. I can't wait to see and eat at cake boss and Ocean Blue. Wonder when we get menu's
