First Diamond Cruise

I know there have been other threads about the VIFP Party and diamond events but I just wanted to do an FYI about our first cruise under the new program. There were 9 Diamond cruisers on the Conquest out of NOLA leaving on 9/2.

The Captains event was a tea on the Bridge at 4 p.m. as we sailed away from Key West. The first 20 or so minutes were spent with an officer explaining what was happening. Then we were offered tea or coffee and a small food buffet that had finger sandwiches appetizers and sweets. If you get to one of these try the truffles, they are outstanding, much better than those served in the buffet restaurant chocolate presentation. Then photos were taken of the group with the Captain and each family with the Captain. We received 4 complementary 8"x10" photos in our cabin the next day. Two group and 2 with Captain, DW and I.

At the VIFP past guest party all 9 diamonds were recognized and called up on stage for another photo with the Captain. We had talked with Squishy, the ACD, earlier and he said this would be implemented on all ships. As an interesting aside, the VIFP party featured a different Captain than the tea did. They had switched Captains in the middle of the cruise because of some problem with the Magic. We received another 2 complementary 8"x10" photos of the group shot the next day.

We did our first Diamond cruise on 8/25 and our second on 9/1/12 on the Dream. The first cruise had 17 Diamonds and we had afternoon tea with the captain. The tea was the same as on sea days with the addition of the captain and officers. The second cruise had 9 Diamonds and we had mimosas, champagne, or orange juice on the bridge as we pulled out of Costa Maya. The second was much nicer since it was something not everyone could do. No pictures were taken on the first cruise and only the couple with the most days got a picture on the second cruise and that was at the VIFP party. No other names were called. I would have liked a picture but being on the bridge was very cool.

Maybe 17 was too many to take on the bridge at one time. JH had posted that each experience could be totally different and I guess he's right.

I would imagine the majority of Diamond cruisers are from FL or close enough to drive to a FL port. Not as many opportunities here on teh West Coase.

probly avg 2.5 on every cruise???

Where did you happen to hear the 730 figure?

On our 6/30/12 Liberty sailing, we were the only two diamond cruisers. On the Sensation about a month ago, there was one additional diamond guest (saw the list in the casino), but there was no captain's event on that 3 night sailing. They were too busy guarding my renegade fan in security lock down!

a reputable peep that would know. I dont care if there is 15 or 50..My bud and I, will be 2 ( so we will be looking for that .5 pax, that is on as well). on Conquest this weekend. It will be my 43rd CCL,@242 days @ sea, and his 30+, I think. He will become Diamond mid week.but already has docs stating it, and mine do as well. I have over 400+@ sea all sailed lines totalled.
