SID1962 Posted September 13, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2012 Folks, We are booked in Aqua on Summit this November. As I understand it, when you do book, and are AQ, you should choose either early or late seating as your dining preference, not select dining, which puts you in the MDR. While checking our reservation yesterday prior to completing on-line registration, I noticed that we were down for select dining rather than either of the fixed dining times. I contacted our TA and asked that it be changed, and he said he would do so. While I have confidence that he will, would it have been possible to correct this once on board? We chose AQ primarily because of Blu, and do not want to give it up due to an error. Thanks in advance, Sid1962
telboy18 Posted September 13, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2012 I was under the impression that if you are eating in Blu, there are no fixed times, so it would be classed as select dining (anytime dining)
Adammara Posted September 13, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2012 Don't worry! Our online booking system does require you to choose either Main Seating (6 PM), Late Seating (8:30 PM), or Celebrity Select Dining in order to complete your booking. As an AquaClass® guest, whatever choice you make, you will be automatically assigned to Blu. Since Blu offers flexible dining between 6 PM and 9:30 PM every evening, you're free to dine at the time of your choice during those hours, even though your reservation details may list a specific time. Choosing Celebrity Select Dining will automatically add pre-paid gratuities and you will still be assigned to Blu. Richard
Rare uktog Posted September 13, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2012 You will be fine And if you want to use a fixed time in your own mind, i.e. always turn up at 1830, they will look after than and probably seat you in the same area of Blu every night
adchesney Posted September 13, 2012 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2012 With Blu...you choose the time that suits you...we were on Silhouette last year and all I can say is WOW! - You will ENJOY it. Regards ANDREW
dana77kc Posted September 13, 2012 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2012 with Blu, on the first evening you are asked to report at either early or late serving times. After the first time, you can arrive whenever you wish. There are some busier times ie around 7PM when you may have to wait a bit.
Rare ghstudio Posted September 13, 2012 #7 Share Posted September 13, 2012 If you are in Aqua class, you are assigned to Blu...period. The antiquated billing system requires that you pick a dining option. It then uses that option to determine if you need to prepay gratuities. If you choose early or late seating, you are not pre-billed for gratuities. If you choose select dining, your gratuities will be in your final payment bill....you prepay them. That doesn't change your dining room assignment which will be blu in all cases.
TeaBag Posted September 13, 2012 #8 Share Posted September 13, 2012 That's good to hear because we are down for Select too.
dkjretired Posted September 13, 2012 #9 Share Posted September 13, 2012 That's good to hear because we are down for Select too. All you need is that little Blue sea pass and you can eat in Blu anytime you wish. GHStudio is correct, the problem is that Celebrity used to move you to regular dining if you chose Select while in Blu however that has been changed and no longer happens. Unfortunately some of the customer service personnel did not get the memo, it will not effect your reservation in any way but causes a lot of confusion. mom23guys Posted September 13, 2012 #10 Share Posted September 13, 2012 I chose select since I have prepaid gratuities and just wanted to make sure it was prepaid by the TA before we boarded;).
