LIVE from the Vision of the Seas Sailing 5 Oct 2012

Our tour was great!

We were picked up at the gang plank in a modern air conditioned bus.

We were accompanied by a tour operator / expert who narrated a ride around town in the bus.

Then we got into horse drawn carriages for four and toured the old section of the city known for its balconies and hanging flowers. The old homes and balconies are in pretty poor shape but were still worth seeing.

Over it was a great tour. Mostly riding with almost no walking and the brought us back to the gang plank.

I have heard but cannot confirm that the crew sits in these life boats facing up and tothe rear and straps in with shoulder straps and seat belts.

It must be quite a ride.

But or course, better than going down with the ship.

Train Man thanks for the amazing review!! We will be on the Vision starting the day after Thanksgiving for a 10 day southern caribbean cruise. Your month long review will make the time go faster for us!!!! Its fantastic to hear about and see pictures of the ship. We have always gone on Royals larger boats (Navigator, Independence, Freedom, etc) and I was alittle concerned about the size plus age but it looks like she is in pretty good shape. We are pretty easy going and have never used all the activities on the larger ships so we decided on the Vision for the ports!!... Hope you all have an amazing time :)

Hello Everyone,

It is 2:30 local time (USA Central I think) and we are pooped!

We had a great time ashore in Cartagena ON RCI's Medieval Cartegena by Horse Drawn Carriage Tour. We recommend it highly. A great experience and almost no walking.

More on that later...

thanks for the pics too ... we are going panama cruise 11/13 and this is an excursion we are going to do , thanks

I am not posting Judith's breakfasts andlunches because she gets hers quicker than I and I hate to post photos of half eaten meals.

Today's lunch.

Cold Cuts, German Potato Salad, Seafood Salad, and She Crab Soup

Day 4 - Monday - Cartehena, Columbia

Good Morning Everyone,

I am live from the Pool Deck. They are changing out the coffee so I decided to get started while I am waiting.

We selected our "Official Bar" for the cruise yesterday! It is in the Casion and is the only inside bar that allows smoking all of the time. There are others that allow smoking late at night.

I ordered my first "Aspin Summer" of the cruise last night!

I tried ordering this twice on the Allure in May and no one knew what it was!! :( I was so sad!!

Good Morning Trainman Jim!

Looks like you had a good day in port yesterday. Hopefully you won BIG at the casino last night. Will check in later for updates. Thank you again for this most enjoyable live thread. It really does help those like me whose next cruise is over a year away.

Wishing you and Judith a wonderful day!

You have to tell them how to make it!

1/2 Blue Curacao

1/2 Malibu Rum (COconut Flavored)

1 "splash" of pine apple juice

Shaken with ice and strained into a martini glass

It shouldbe a bright, clear, blue!

Good Morning Everyone,

Today is the "big day" and our west bound transit of the Panama Canal. It is almost 5 am local time and we are due to enter the first set of locks at 7:30 local time.
