Chef's Table on the Silhouette?

Does anyone know whether a Chef's table is offered on Silhouette? If so, how difficult is it to get in and can you reserve in advance?

We will be cruising her in March 2013. A few years back, I tried to get a Chef's Table on Princess and booked as soon as we boarded (one cannot book theirs in advance). Even so, just missed the cut and had to watch sadly as the Chef's Table celebrities paraded by us at dinner in their white coats. Tried it successfully on Norwegian last year, but I made the mistake of drinking a glass of wine at each of the 12 courses and I "missed" the last 6, but discovered there is indeed a door to the Land of Narnia at sea.

So....I would love to partake in culinary heaven on Celebrity and I promise that wine sampling will consist of sips, not draughts. Can anyone help this wayward passenger?

On the Infinity last April we participated in a Chef's Table in the Galley. There were six passengers, and it was hosted by the Food and Beverage Manager. I don't remember if it was advertised in the Celebrity Today, but we were told about it when we were making reservations for the specialty restaurant.

It was quite the experience -- after champagne we were escorted into the MDR galley where the executive chef prepared our courses. Wines were paired by course. During a slow period in the galley we were given a detailed tour. Absolutely fascinating watching the MDR galley at work.

I would be worried if we went on a Galley tour. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach (reaaaaally big eyes), and I'd be thinking "I'll take that, that, that, and oh yes, some of that!"

When we were on her for slightly over 3 weeks for a TA that ended in Venice, we were treated to a wonderful chef's event!!! It was a fabulous food and wine pairing dinner with Chef Franco Lania. We had the very best time and the food and wines were fabulous!!! It was not the head chef for the ship, but he did stop by. Chef Franco was so informative and great fun!!! If they offer something similar, do take advantage. You cannot go wrong!!!!

Now that is exactly what we were looking for! I may try calling Celebrity to see if reservations are possible.

You will not be able to make a reservation until you are on board. Speak the the Maitre d' of Murano as soon as you can after you board.

Thanks! It's handled similarly to Princess then. I hope we make it in.

It is my understanding that on Celebrity the problem is more likely to be that not enough people sign up because of the low-level publicity and it is cancelled. It is as well to encourage others to sign up - once you have got you name on the list!!!!

Hi; My DW and I have done Chef's Table on every cruise that its available, and We wouldn't miss it. The first three were on Carnival, and being one of the first to do a chef's table and they were great. everyone that we have attended have gotten better with each sitting. I have to say the last one on the Sea Princess was by far the best yet (Lobster Thermidor & Chateaubriand). Each course with wine paring, champagne, and caviar. I hope you get to attend and enjoy the CHEF'S TABLE.

We've enjoyed it 5 times on Carnival, hope to on Princess over Thanksgiving, and if it's offered on the Reflection over New Year's - we would definitely BE THERE!

I don't recall seeing it offered (nor did I inquire) on either the Solstice or Eclipse. We eat all meals in the specialty restaurants already, so the Chef's Table would be the icing on the cake. I recall on the Constellation they did offer a special meal - and it was fantastic!

This is a different dinner and, IMHO, nowhere near as good as the Chef's Table. It is my understanding that the Chef's Table will be offered on all Celebrity cruises provided there is sufficient demand. It is not advertised widely and you need to be proactive.

There were definitely fewer courses with that meal (copy of menu) than Chef's Tables we've been a part of. Though it was one of the best meals we had enjoyed to (that) date.

The Chef's Table on Carnival is $75 (if I recall correctly) and includes a low grade sparkling wine to start, then a "red" or "white" with the meal. On Princess I understand that the wines are paired with each course for $90. What is the cost on Celebrity?

If I remember correctly, it was $259 per couple but also included the "Excite The Senses" cookbook. It may sound expensive compared to what you have tried on Carnival and Princess. I have never been on those cruise lines but we did partake in the Wine Connoisseur Dinner and the Chef's Table a few nights apart on our last cruise. We probably will not do the wine dinner again but would do another Chef's Table in a heartbeat.

Thanks.

Not that I've ever paid much attention to the cookbooks which are given out, but if they have good wines with the meal - that ends up being comparable to what one might pay in a specialty restaurant with a nice bottle of wine.

Does anyone know if they offer a Chef's Table on shorter sailings? (4/5 night Constellation)?? My guess is no, but it never hurts to ask!

Also - it's my understanding that on Princess the Chef's Table is truly the creation/inspiration of the chef on each ship, whereas on Carnival it's a single corporate (fleet wide) menu. By definition, I feel that it should be created by each chef.

What is the approach on Celebrity??
