I will have a $125 on board credit while on my next cruise. I have already purchased the drink packages for this 3 day cruise. I doubt I will incure any other charges. How can I get my money from this account? I appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks,

Cathy

Do you think you will spend $125 on the cruise, if not I would cancel the drink package and buy the same thing on board. This way the package will automatically go on your bill and the $125 will come into play.

Hi Cathy,

We have always had OBC for about the same amount . I think I bought a couple of bracelets for the granddaughters that came to under $12. The rest would be refunded to your credit card. You can check the status of your account via interactive tv. It is always good to go to the purser's desk and ask for a printout of your account to verify. Do this a couple of days prior to the last. Everyone seems to go there at the last minute. You can then verify your account and credit card charge once you are back home.

I don't know if this will be helpful or not but we always use luggage valet for our trip home and the charge is taken out of that OBC. If you haven't tried this, it is great. You register several nights prior to leaving (you will get notification of availability by air carrier) and you are charged $20 per person. On the last night when you put out your bags, you will get boarding passes and your luggage will arrive at your destination airport. You do not have to search for your bags the next morning (hated that large hall and the hunt for bags! they look alike!! ) check bags or get in line for a boarding pass at the airport. In addition, you are usually in a group that gets to leave the ship in a priority grouping. It is well worth the money we think.

We each have a small carry on with our important paperwork, a change of clothes, and our electronic stuff and meds. I only mention this because I have heard stories of folks putting out checked bags and forgetting to leave out clothes to travel home in the next day.

I apologize for not answering your question directly, but this might help you out a bit. Happy cruising to you.

Gosh...just realized you wrote a 3 day cruise. This might not even be helpful to you. Oh well....

Hi,:) if you are doing Select Dining then gratuities are paid up front.

But if you are doing traditional? You gratuties are charged daily, to your

on board account.....that 125.00 bucks will help there.

You are buying a drink package? So those will be pre-paid;)

But 125.00 really isn't that much....are you on Reflection for 3 nights?:D

Buy some souveniers from the new ship:D

It will also depend on if the OBC is refundable, or not. If it's not marked as refundable, you'll have to use it or lose it.

Personally I could spend 125 in 10 seconds. Heck i spent i think 60 on a sweater type jacket on the reflection because it was so cold and i wanted a souvenir anyway lol.

I also spent money on laundry, bingo, internet....

I've got 700 coming to me on my next cruise (well 350 each as I'm splitting it with my fiance) and I'm pretty sure it'll be gone by the half way point of the cruise (14 day cruise lol).

I love cruising!!!!

Even non refundable (OBN) can be withdrawn at the casino for the 5% fee.

Withdrawing cash from the casino does count as "using it" and what you would lose is the 5% fee.

Oh, that's good to know, thank you! Definitely better than losing it, if it came down to it. Personally though i have no problems spending my obc lol
