What is fun in Barbados?

We will be visiting Barbados in July. We are on a cruise with 5 port days, and we already have 2 beach excursions planned, and another with a private charter boat booked to take us whale/dolphin watching and will also hit up a beach as part of that and plan to snorkel some that day... so for Barbados would kind of like to find something non-beach related that would be fun, although not ruling out being on the water somehow, if it was something different.. We are 6 girlfriends, aged 23-30. We are all physically active. We would like to do something that maybe a tour of some sort is involved, but not JUST a tour showing us the sights.

- Are there any reputable tour groups anyone can refer?

- Are there any marine life - type facilities (dolphins, etc)?

- Any all-inclusive resorts that do day passes?

Just tryin to come up with something fun and adventurous, any tips appreciated!

It sounds like you’re ready for something different. And that means not sitting in a taxi or van for hours, yes?

A more active tour (partially different) might be to grab a van first thing and head to Harrisons Cave and then do the zip line right next door at Aerial Trek at Jack-in-the-Box Gully St. Thomas.

This would be a fun-fun day for you gals if you can squeeze it in.

Have a great holiday! :)

You may want to check out Calabaza Catamaran.

Also check out the Barbados forum on the Tripadvisor site for other ideas.

Another big thumbs for Calabaza. We had a fabulous day with them. They only take 12 on board; we were fed extremely well and the snorkel with turtles was the highlight of my B2B.

I just booked a cruise for January 2014. I know its far away but this looks like a great time. I checked out the website but it doesn't show a cost. How much did you pay per person for this excursion? I'm a family of 5 so need to keep costs somewhat affordable.

Hi. I'll be ending a cruise in Barbados in February and our flight does not leave until 4:30pm. I'd like to find someplace to store my luggage and do something with my 6 y/o daughter that does not involve water or sand (no beaches).

I've already been to Harrison's Caves. Any other ideas for us and any info about where/if we can store our luggage would be appreciated.

Why dont you rent a car and take yourself on a tour of the island? You drive on the left, so there's your adventure! You'll get lost but you'll still see a lot.

My wife and I did this a while b

ack and we had a ball. We drove to the east coast which is really scenic. Get a car with a GPS and you'll be fine! The roads are in good shape and not too windy like on some of the islands.

Agree with Barbados! You'll have both a fun and active day ... and be doing something different from your other port stops!
