MrFunInTheSun Posted December 3, 2012 Author #31 Share Posted December 3, 2012 Library Earth. Bunch of aliens live there Nice car for the aliens Christmas deco Will be getting ready for dinner here pretty soon. Hope to graze around 600-615. It's been a gorgeous sail away from Port Canaveral, we couldn't ask for a better day. Couple notes, our lunch was delicious. Through this report I'll note some things on food but food is so subjective so I won't get into it a lot. Staff has been extremely nice and welcoming. Since the start of this cruise a ton of people keep being called to call or stop by the pursers desk. I can't remember another cruise where so many people so soon in a cruise keep getting called for over the PA. Earlier during sail away this lady couldn't get over how small this ship was. She'd never sailed out of PC before, usually Ft Lauderdale and sailed a larger Carnival ship. Thought to myself.... Really?? Didn't you research some on what ship you were sailing? That's all for now until after dinner and such. I'm going to look but am sure I won't find my Canadian friends or NY friends. Dinner and then the piano bar will not be the same without them. New ship friends at the piano bar tonight? Till a later time, live from the Carnival Ecstasy... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Please excuse any typographical errors. Ander026 Posted December 4, 2012 #38 Share Posted December 4, 2012 Great review. I will be sailing out of Port Canaveral (first time since April 2011). I will be on the Monarch Dec 24th with the rest of the family. This time instead of parking at the port I am parking at the Radisson. I have heard great reports and for my 4-day cruise I paid a little over $36 for parking. Have a great cruise and have Magical Day.

MrFunInTheSun Posted December 4, 2012 Author #42 Share Posted December 4, 2012 Good Morning, welcome to day 2 on the Carnival Ecstasy... Today we are at sea! Wahoo, days at sea are the best. Nothing is planned today other than relaxing and reading. Yup reading more of "Searching for Kokomo, diary of a MADD cruiser." Now there is an issue in this scenario in itself. You see I've not read anymore in this book since I got off the Carnival Freedom. Now I'd like to prerequisite that it's not because I don't like the book, the book is quite good. It appears in order for me to read books now, I've got to be cruising. :-/ Onward we go, last evening DM and I had a great first evening on the ship. Got her two of the four martinis from the martini tasting, as noted in general she doesn't drink. I got an additional one as a parting gift compliments of my S&S card as we left our lovely bar staff. We checked out the welcome aboard show and the piano bar. I've come to the conclusion that maybe piano bars on smaller ships aren't as good as the larger ship. Dinner was good last night, tonight is formal night. We didn't have table mates last night which was kinda sad. Vince, Lisa & Linda were missed. Brent Mitchell the cruise director does a good job and has good energy. He's from Canada. Another note on the staff, all we've encountered have been nothing but nice. Calling us by name and always have a smile. Last week I read a review warning folks about the Ecstasy. Now I'm not negating that poster may have had a bad experience, but we've not encountered anything negative. We are currently traveling at 10 knots with about 37 mph winds. For a ship over 20 years old, Ecstasy is looking good and the staff have been doing well in keeping her up. One other thing, as noted this ship took my cruising virginity, when I boarded the ship she gave me a big wink. She's a class act. Today's Fun Times Shows Till a later time, live from the Carnival Ecstasy... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Please excuse any typographical errors. RuthlessBoss Posted December 4, 2012 #43 Share Posted December 4, 2012 Is this GRID thing new? I read on another post about one, but had not seen one. I was on Ecstasy Nov 5, and got upset I missed shows because I had late seating, so after formal night I did not go to the DR. Later in the week, voila, shows showed up in the Funtimes. I just dug out my Funtimes thinking maybe I missed the grid, but no, there was no grid. I wish I had had one to squelch my initial disappointment. cheropita Posted December 4, 2012 #44 Share Posted December 4, 2012 I like the grid! Did I totally miss the whole comedy brunches on The Freedom or were they not there?
MrFunInTheSun Posted December 4, 2012 Author #45 Share Posted December 4, 2012 Good Afternoon It's been a beautiful day here aboard the lovely Carnival Ecstasy out here in the middle of nowhere as we make our way to half moon cay. It's been partly cloudy and windy off and on and was cool now and then if the sun went in. Winds have been blowing at about 32 mph. The upper walking deck and mini golf area has been closed most of the day because of the winds. Seating hasn't been to much of an issue today. We had a delicious lunch in the dining room and sat with some nice people. We passed in our free drink coupons for bloody Mary's. After lunch DM did some shopping and walked around the ship some and enjoyed the motion of the sea. Made my way to the room and took a nice nap. Working 8 days in a row prior to yesterday finally caught up to me. Ive been tired all day. Couldn't ask for a better view then this for breakfast Today around the deck Last nights show ended in the lobby This morning I had an issue getting onto the Internet, but it was user error. My last cruise on fantasy class ship on the Sensation my room was on the main deck, this cruise on Ecstasy on Empress. Each time I'd try to log in I'd use the deck from previous cruise and room number of this one. Opps. Till a later time, live from the Carnival Ecstasy... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. cheropita Posted December 4, 2012 #50 Share Posted December 4, 2012 Pics look great! Question - does anyone know the name of the song they play on the ship that gets everyone up dancing. It is kinda like the Cupid Shuffle. The only part Of the song I remember is something about "back it up Girl"... Thanks!
