Thecat123 Posted December 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2012 We fly out of Auckland to Sydney to catch a cruise around NZ finishing back at Sydney then flying back to Auckland When we leave Auckland the Immigration Dept want to know how many days we are out of NZ Do we put the total cruise time of 15 days or the day the cruise arrives in NZ which would only be 5 days? I am guessing it would be the total time we are away?

The_Big_M Posted December 10, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2012 I'd have thought 5 days as you need to re-clear immigration to enter NZ on the cruise. You're leaving and then entering twice.

But yes, asking on the spot will ensure you'll give the answer he prefers at that time. :-)

NSWP Posted December 14, 2012 #15 Share Posted December 14, 2012 Give yourself a buffer and put down 25 days. When we leave Australia for overseas we always put in a few extra days on our departing passenger card. It is no big deal. You have a passport you have to get back in.
