need2bespoiled Posted February 21, 2013 #527 Share Posted February 21, 2013 Based on the Eclipse, I would look at A2 with exceptions below: I would skip A1. However,1605, 1610, 1547, 1552 look better than the rest of A1 d/t larger balconies and location. I'm fairly certain this list of "red" doesn't apply to AQ cabins on Reflection as a cabin like 1549 is a larger balcony, unobstructed and not under the overhang directly like on the other S Class Ships. cruisetrail Posted February 21, 2013 Author #530 Share Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) It's not the worst but it's far from being the best. The blue roof is close. The aft view is limited. Far from stairways. The balcony is slightly larger - you can see the difference. Edited February 21, 2013 by cruisetrail

I agree. AQ feels better on the Reflection. Major problems went one deck up.
Paula1249 Posted February 21, 2013 #533 Share Posted February 21, 2013 Thank you for the outstanding investigative work, time and effort you have invested in this thread. It's so nice to know there are still some genuinely Helpful people! Sailing on Equinox next month in cabin 7290. Any negatives? Will balcony provide shade for our patio doors? Thanks in advance for any input you can offer. Keep up the good work!!
cruisetrail Posted February 21, 2013 Author #534 Share Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) Due to discrepancies in Celebrity deck plans five pictures escaped with cabin numbers slipped one step aft. This was limited to deck 8 only, from the hump forward only and Solstice to Eclipse only. Attention: TorontoSailor Dabu17 Lynnlynn LuckyDogsV&E texmex.ferr jhans24 Please see corrected numbers below. Sorry about that. Hope (sure) it won't ruin your cruise :) I was looking through your posts and could not find any information on Celebrity Eclipse Cabin 8281, which was recommended to me onboard by a booking agent. Is it a good one? Thanks! A necessary correction. Yes, it's a good one. A better one is 8279 (larger balcony, closer to the hump). Did I miss opinion/picture of 8252 on Eclipse? Thanks, in advance. Cruise trail, could you please post photos of room 8238 on solstice. Your help here is much appreciated! Thanks! Celebrity Solstice After going through everything and studying it I still can not make my mnd up on a selection of cabins I am looking at for a Holiday cruise on the Equinox. I have narrowed it down to 3 I think would be good but would like your opinion on which one. They are 8224, 8253, & 8285. Vie In fact 8253 can be considered a better choice (the deepest balcony). However 8285 may be a bit less windy. Do you have a picture of cabin 8255 on the hump on Eclipse, we are booked into that one for a sailing in March, is this a good location? Thanks for your help texmex.ferr, please see the corrected number below. We have 8255 on the Equinox. We will have our 3 and 6 yo with us, so that limited cabin selections. Based on your photos of similar cabins we should have roughly a 75% larger balcony being on the hump. Do you have a picture of where this room would be and am I close on balcony dimensions? jhans24, The number has been corrected but your balcony is still much larger than standard. However, balconies on both sides (like 8253) are even larger. Thanks for the info on Cabin 8255 Eclipse, Cruisetrail, which cabin number would you recommend as being best/good in a 1A category, just as a matter of interest? We have never sailed with Celebrity before, so any info is helpful. Thanks Texmex.ferr The corrected answer will be as follows: 9237, 9292, 8279, 8252, 9215, 9270, 8257, 8230, 9155, 9192, 8197, 8160, 7286, 7241, 7264, 7219, 7206, 7159. Considerations: "first from the hump" midships>forward upper>lower leeward>windward POSH (for transatlantic) is better except deck 7 that is closer to smoking areas. Friends, enjoy your cruises! cruisetrail Posted February 21, 2013 Author #535 Share Posted February 21, 2013 The discrepancies mentioned above have been correcten on Celebruty website. Mistakes still on Celebrity website: Celebrity Silhouette as an example: I believe they are waiting for a really good photo of the Reflection. So far their website displays a photoshopped picture of a different ship (not the Reflection).

It's so nice to know there are still some genuinely Helpful people! Sailing on Equinox next month in cabin 7290. Any negatives? Will balcony provide shade for our patio doors? Thanks in advance for any input you can offer. Keep up the good work!! The Silhouette as an example. Deck 7 is still close to lifeboats. "The Third From the Hump" is deeper in the superstructure, not on the hump. Extra deep balcony (like 9292). There will be shade on your patio doors. Enjoy your cruise! BuddyR Posted February 21, 2013 #545 Share Posted February 21, 2013 I have booked cabin 1648 (A2) for a December Reflection cruise. Right now, there are only a couple of A2s available (aft) but I'm sure others will open up all along. What information can you provide about this cabin on the Reflection? My husband thinks we will be better off if we can snag an A2 that is in the forward area. Thanks, Laura

Cruisin Kay D Posted February 22, 2013 #547 Share Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) I have now read through all pages in Part 1 & Part 2 of Cruisetrail's threads and enjoyed the wonderful detailed pictures, as well as read through all comments everyone on those 2 lengthy threads. I see many people who don't like Cruisetrail's comments and opinions about the S-class ships. OK, so let's praise the pictoral efforts!!! Having taken 32 cruises so far, so many people ask me WHICH SHIP WE LIKE BEST and I always say: IT'S LIKE ASKING ME WHICH CHILD (OR GRANDCHILD) WE LIKE BEST!!! Each has his/her special personality, special gifts & abilities and special quirks, but we love each and every one of them, recognizing their weaknesses & faults. It's the same with the various cruise ships -- the good and the bad (yes!! all ships have their weaknesses, quirks, faults in design, decor, entertainment, service, food etc.)!! Everyone should remember there is NO PERFECTLY designed ship for the entire cruising public. I have said this before, this is one of CC best threads. I just wished there was one like this for every ship. I don't choose my cruises based on the ship's design, but I'm going to look at the Eclipse on a different way this summer. Learned too much reading Part 1 & 2 of Cruisetrail's threads!!
