eyoreblu Posted December 19, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2012 Does anyone have experience on boarding on Easter Sunday if there are any type of services in the late afternoon or evening? We are boarding the Nieuw Amsterdam.
RuthC Posted December 20, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 20, 2012 My experience is not specific to Easter Sunday, but is general to all boarding days. Every time there is a Catholic Mass at 5:00 PM. I would expect Easter to follow the same schedule.

Krazy Kruizers Posted December 20, 2012 #4 Share Posted December 20, 2012 You can count on there being a service. Just check your daily Explorer program for the time and place.

Typhoon1 Posted December 21, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 21, 2012 Catholic and other clergy will be on board to hold services for most denominations.
Himself Posted December 21, 2012 #7 Share Posted December 21, 2012 My experience is not specific to Easter Sunday, but is general to all boarding days. Every time there is a Catholic Mass at 5:00 PM. I would expect Easter to follow the same schedule. I think all ships now have a Mass at 5:00 PM on sail away days. That is all Holland America Ships. Being Pastor of a one man parish, I am not able to get away on Easter Sunday. I would presume that if there is a non-Catholic clergy on board there would be some kind of an interdenominational service at the same time in another location. jmbaker65 Posted December 21, 2012 #8 Share Posted December 21, 2012 We sailed out of Ft. Lauderdale earlier this year on Easter Sunday and mass was at 5:00 in the Queen's Lounge and it was sparcely. Last year we left on the Saturday before Easter and Mass was Sunday morning at 8:00 in the main theater where there were at least 250 in attendance(easily the largest group I had ever seen at mass at sea.) Enjoy the cruise, I know our family really enjoys getting away at that time of year.
