Most interesting person(s) met on a cruise

I met a couple in the casino on one of my cruises and it turned out they lived only a few miles from me. We had gotten to talking and they were telling me that they were looking for a jack russell terrier to adopt. I told them I worked for a vet and that we had a JRT that we had found a few months before and she was ready for adoption. They came by and fell in love and adopted her. She might have been at our hospital for months if I hadn't met them on the cruise.

That is an awesome story. Talk about things happening for a reason…

Several years ago on Brilliance when she was doing the 10-11 nite cruises, we met two young Brits, Mike and Dave, who were cousins from Derby. Tho' they were much younger than we, we had a great time with them in the casino every night. Since my husband had won quite a bit at roulette, we invited them to our balcony for champagn on the last afternoon of the cruise. They were a hoot!

We had the pleasure of sharing a table with a elderly man that use to take pictures of the president's. He had also taken pictures of some movie stars like John Wayne and Marilyn Monroe. His wife seemed to be jealous of all the attention he was getting. Wish I could remember his name.

Some of you may be appalled but we met a transgender couple years ago. We sat with them a few nights for dinner and one night it came out that they were actually a transgender couple. They said that they met at some sort of support group and that they fell in love immediately. They were the nicest people we have ever met on a cruise.

Sat next to a VERY entertaining man while my sister & I were waiting to board the Monarch June '12. He was hysterical!!! He asked about us (teachers) and proceeded to tell about his wife/kids that are in education. I commented to his "wife" one point. He told us that she was his girlfriend, beauty pageant winner in her day. Then said, "My wife left me." Oh CRAP! Where is a hole?????:p He quickly told the story. Knew he messed up but was enjoying life again. ;) He said he was LTD, living the dream. We saw them dancing and thoroughly enjoying themselves all week! He made the start to our cruise. Whoever you are, thanks! I hope your son finally found someone to settle down. :p

This is THE BEST thread to post. I know everyone that has ever cruised can relate to this and think of someone. I have two stories - 1) Our first cruise on AOS in April 2009, our table mates were the best you could ask for. We had a couple from Scotland, a couple from Canada and a couple from New Jersey...then us from Delaware! We enjoyed each other so much and shared lots of laughs. We kept in touch by email for a bit, but have lost touch over the years. 2) My husband is one of those "memorable" people. I'm shocked nobody has mentioned him. I don't know what happened, but one night he was feeling sick and had to go back to the room...me being the good person that I am went back with him. He fell asleep and after hours of quiet and t.v.....I dozed off too. I woke up the next morning only to find out that he had gotten up later that night and went up to the deck where they were having some kind of dance competition, etc. By the way...he swears he tried waking me up (sure ya did!). All I know is that the next day EVERYBODY on the ship knew who my husband was and kept calling him "the dancer from last night". He will never live that down...

I met Danny Bonaduce on the Freedom a year or so ago. He's a washed up actor from the Partridge Family. What a jerk he was. We saw him waiting in line to get back on the ship when we were in Nassau and I yelled "DANNY", he turned around and I asked if I could have a pic w/him. He looks at me and says "hurry up and take your damn picture". Really? Anyway, I wasn't a fan, but wanted the pic to show friends back home. I wouldn't call him "interesting", but more of a jerk! Fortunately we have met some truly wonderful people since then!

I'm surprised he can afford to go on a cruise LOL

Not on a cruise but prior to boarding at the El San Juan hotel, my wife walks into a boutique shoe store on the property and was looking at a pair of Jessica Simpson shoes. A guy turns around after paying for a purchase she was making and it was none other than her ex-Nick Lachey! He was on the property with his girlfriend Vanessa Minnilo to attend a wedding. She spoke to him briefly and he was very friendly and cordial. We later saw their photograph from the El San Juan in the National Enquirer.

damn i was hoping to see a bunch of posts about me! lol

this guy has been my favorite so far:

on the same cruise we had this couple around our age from ny and one of thier cousins and her husband from greece as our tablemates. really fun people, we had some good times like making fun how uptight the other people at the table were. the greek couple spoke little english but i would usually run into the husband at the casino and that was always a good laugh between us with no words understood by anyone lol. i regret not staying in touch with them.

my first cruise we had this couple that were former tennis pros (or semi pros, cant remember)

-Roger

Awesome!!:)

Hubby and I went to the dining room for lunch once on Celebrity Summit and were seated with two older ladies. One was Nick Lacheys' grandmother. She was very nice, said Jessica was very sweet, didn't normally wear makeup around the house.

I felt bad, a few months later Nick and Jessica divorced.

But we also have met MANY wonderful friends that we still cruise with. the NICEST people like to cruise!

That's hysterical. We should all photo bomb someone on our next cruises and post the pics!

We were photo bombed on our last cruise while on the dock on Grand Cayman...big ole fatty stuck her head right in and smiled big as day....when we went to find our picture lo and behold there she was.....it was a great picture too...and she did it to 2 others as well! Needless to say we spent sometime everyday looking for her pictures...and then hid them! Lol! We never did see her around the ship again....I guess what we did was equally mean....yikes!;)

I am a photobombing hipster... I photobombed before it was cool. HAHAHA

Back in the early 90's, a relative graduated from high school and I went around the infield of the stadium where it was held and tried to get in as many photos as I possibly could.

VERY small town. A very small town where everyone knew everyone, except I was from 1,500 miles away, so no one knew me. My relatives there called me a few weeks later (in the days where you had to develop your film!) and said everyone in town was talking about some guy in a blue shirt who was in so many photos.

Seriously, I was exhausted by the end of the night. I was all over that field. I did the drive-by, where I walked behind slowly and suddenly glanced over as the picture was snapped. I did the background grin, where I stood just out of range... then slid in and cheeseball smiled at the last second. I did the POP goes the weasel, where I suddenly popped up right in the middle of the group. I did the WASSUP where I jumped in front. I tried every method I could think of.
