Allure of the Seas-NEED HELP in choosing room and side of ship

My husband and I will be sailing on the Allure of the Seas in November. We will be sailing the Eastern Carribean route. Can someone please advise as to a good balcony room, mid ship and also side of ship so we can enjoy sailing into the ports.

I would pick a balcony on the starboard side near the aft elevators on Deck 8.

An RCI agent recommended the port side, I think because a better view of ports (no pun intended). We had a great room on Deck 10.

I like balcony cabin on Deck 6, starboard side, just aft of the aft elevators.

 

The Boardwalk is close for morning coffee. If you walk behind the Aqua Theater on the Boardwalk, there is a staircase going down to Deck 5, the walking/jogging track. There you will find a beautiful, quiet, and usually private viewing area of the ocean; I would usually have my second cup of morning coffee here. The Promenade is one deck below - get there from the staircase or elevators just outside of the entrance to the Boardwalk. In this location, you are directly above the Dining Rooms, as they are aft also. Deck 4 for the Casino, Studio B, Comedy Club, etc. are easily accessible from deck 4. Deck 6 is still very close to Central Park. I would usually walk up there, after my relaxing view of the ocean on deck 5, for my third cup of morning coffee, picking it up from the Park Cafe, then find a park bench or empty chair to enjoy the blue sky, towering trees, and colorful flowers and greenery while saying to myself, "Life is good; I am sitting in a park in the middle of the ocean." It can't get much better.

 

The only places you are really not close to is the Pool Deck and the Windjammer. If close access to those areas is important to you, you may want to stay on a higher deck.

 

You will not hear any noise from the Boardwalk or the Promenade level. Deck 8 is also a good location; that would be my second choice, as early morning coffee is still close by.

If you can get a hump cabin on Deck 8, this is great. Close to Central Park, bigger balcony.

I did a whole "review" with photos of what you will see from the port side of Oasis on Eastern Route ( and I did mention what one would see on the starboard side too) Sorry, I don't have the post number, but if you are scrolling through, I think it's with all the pictures of the ships in Nassau.( it's linked in my signature)

These ships unload pax from the starboard side, so generally if you want to see the " runners" and the pier, go for starboard ( note that an any time the ship can dock the other way to do a life boat drill or maintenance)

 

We prefer deck 8 because we like the CP and its centrally located, vertically, to everything on these large ships, and we like to walk the stairs.

If you are traveling with a large party...you may find its not worth it to have a balcony, they don't fit that many people, and you might find you are meeting your group at other places around the ship.

Another vote for deck 8 starboard, and the big balconies are great. The JS balconies here are wonderful but pricey!

Hmmm...Sounds like that RCI agent has never been on Oasis or Allure because these two ships mainly dock starboard side ;)

I pretty much agree with this. I think the Allure docks starboard side to the pier 98% of the time. The other 2% will be port side to the pier for the reason stated above (life boat drills/maintenance).

I was onboard Allure last Oct. on the Eastern route and we docked starboard side to the pier in each port except Nassau.
