jacobichka Posted February 19, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2013 Hello to All. Last week I booked Western Caribbean cruise on Allure OS. Just checked my cruise on RC web site, and found that I have been signed up to cabin 7212. It is a balcony cabin on the deck 7, category D5 and I'v had X-GTY. What do you expert guys think, is this a good location, is it worse to buzzer my TA to move to higher deck? They have some cabins available on deck 12 and 14. Will appreciate for any advise. Nothing wrong with that stateroom. Central Park is one deck up, Boardwalk is one deck down, Promenade is two decks down.
jacobichka Posted February 19, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted February 19, 2013 Thank you for your advice. I just always thought that higher is better. Closer to the pool and less of using and waiting for elevators.
Merion_Mom Posted February 19, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2013 Thank you for your advice. I just always thought that higher is better. Closer to the pool and less of using and waiting for elevators. But farther from other things: Dining rooms, Royal Promenade, entertainment venues, casino, schooner bar, boardwalk, central park And closer to pool deck also = more noise from pool deck. :) You did well to get a Deck 7 cabin. Try to use the forward elevators instead of the aft elevators whenever possible. There is sort of a humorous problem on Deck 7 at the aft elevator lobby - you cannot cross over from port to starboard or starboard to port, as you can at every other elevator lobby on the ship. The sign for the Boardwalk is in the way. So if you accidentally take the elevators on the wrong side (in your case, that would be the starboard elevators), you will have to go ALL the way around the front of the ship or up/down a set of stairs and then down/up the stairs to get to your cabin. :D
Cruisin MarcnFran Posted February 19, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2013 We chose deck 7 (D4) and I wouldn't give it up even if they offered a higher D cabin.

Plus, you burn calories!
Rare BecciBoo Posted February 19, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 19, 2013 The majority of all our cabins over 15 cruises have been on deck 7! Don't know why, for the most part, it just ends up there. We have never been disappointed for the reasons stated above. We like that it is central to the prominade and dining. You'll find you are on those levels more than the pool deck, even though we love the pools. So a couple up a couple down is excellent! Wish I were going!;)
