Red eye flight, any hotels that will let us in early

Our flight arrives at six fourty five am, and we're going to be exhausted.

Do the hotels charge us for the night before, or are there any that will let us rent the room for the night of fourth and get it early?

It looks like you need a hotel for May 2nd, is this correct? Generally no the hotels do not charge you for the night before as you did not stay there. You only get charged for the night you stay in the hotel. Just make a reservation for the night you need (it looks like May 2nd), be sure to call the hotel directly that you reserve for to see if an early check in is possible. Explain your situation that you are arriving very early from a red eye flight. If there are empty rooms they might be able to accomodate your early arrival. Where are you flying into? Miami or Ft. Lauderdale?

We did this samething arriving into FLL on a redeye at 6:30am..Embassy Suites luckily had two rooms for us available..we had the buffet breakfast and got some sleep before our rental car arrived...I did email the hotel and requested an early checkin (no extra charge)...great hotel and staff. Thanks ES :)

The only way to guarantee a room when you arrive at 6:45 AM is to reserve and pay for it for the night before with late check-in. :( Otherwise you are at the mercy of supply and demand -- if the hotel has empty rooms they might let you in early, otherwise you'll need to wait until the other guests check out and the rooms are cleaned. Most hotels will happily hold your bags while you wait for your room, allowing you to wander around to find brunch, etc.

Good luck! :)

I would book the room for the night before your arrival, explain when you will be arriving and then ask for a LATE checkout. That way you know you have the room as soon as you get there. ANd most hotels will let you check out as late as 1:00 with no charge.

Have you used priceline before? I would probably book there ( if there are only two of you) as you aren't too particular about amenities if you will just be catching some shut eye.

If you do not want to pay for a room up front then it is anyones guess whether a hotel will have a room for you when you arrive....

Both answers are absolutely correct. The hotel does not have to let you check in early. They may have a room and they may not. *shrug* Be prepared to not check in early (have a Plan B), and if you are able to check in early, so much the better. This can be said for any hotel, anywhere in the entire world.

As stated, you have two options: pay for the entire night and arrive late for the reservation (which is early in the morning, in other words), or call the hotel when you land and ask when is the earliest you can check in. If they have nothing until noon, for instance, you may be hanging at the airport for a while.

Find out what the occupancy is for the night before. If the hotel has a clean room ready that is in your category, of course they will let you check in early.

My suggestion is to call the hotel and speak to a manager person and let them know your situation. Even if they are full, they can make arrangements to get an early departure room ready early for you or some other situation.

Mostly, call and speak to the hotel about this. All hotels have different policies.

Lastly, hotels do not charge for an early check in so if they do try and charge you, call their 800 number ASAP and speak to someone.
