Hi All

This year is the best I have ever seen for Prices

new sale has Ruby for 12 nights at £499

the Royal is £1299

while the Royal is new would you pay this difference for the same cruise,

yours Shogun

I have the same sense of bewilderment - I just wish I had more flexibity in holiday bookings so that I could shift by a few days to take advantage of the great offers.

Hopefully there will be others who can take up the offers and have a longer or less pricey cruise

Following this post I looked and yes it is cheaper to do the Ruby in a balcony (£1299 compared to £1799) and I thought OMG have I done the wrong thing booking the Royal

BUT then I thought this cruise is a celebration cruise that I booked 18 months prior to sailing and have been looking forward to ever since so yes it is worth the extra money. We can't wait to experience the new ship and the ports are one's that we look forward to going to - especially Istanbul & Kusadasi!

Maybe if it was a regular summer cruise it would be better value to go on the Ruby but as to something that I have been religiously following for 18 months then no I wouldn't change it for the world!!

When I was 15yrs old _ so a long time ago!!! We went on a school cruise in Feb and visited Kusadasi, Istanbul & Athens which I think is why I am looking to visiting them again!

I can't wait to visit Italy as I have never visited the country before - and sailing into Venice will be amazing I'm sure!

Barcelona is also a must do and we are staying there for 2 nights prior to the cruise as well as 2 nights in Venice.

Hi antsp

We used easy jet last year, and got a good package rate,

with the Caribbean at £399

the Ruby at £499 these are good 12 night deals,

might have to book this Ruby cruise,

but its only a few weeks after my Crown cruise which was a good deal

air france for us , not what i planned but we are off the ruby on the 28th aug, jet 2 wants over £240 for a flight oneway venice to manchester, they have no chance air france was £208 return,we have to change in cdg but its nearly £400 cheaper, so its 2 hours in CDG on the way and 2 hours in AMS on return. Hey im going on another cruise so who cares, last flight i took was 11 or so hours to LA

Hi antsp

we got BA for 52 euro Barcelona to Edinburgh for this summer,

thought it was a steal. Most of this is taxes

Flight prices seem as crazy as cruise prices this year

So it is understandable that our 21-day cruise aboard the Royal has been cancelled. No, it has not been converted to the Ruby but to another line offering the same price but with much more of a welcoming value. The appeal of OBC's can no longer be considered value in these price comparisons.

Is this a big concern for the cruise lines, a 12 night cruise in peak season for $799 or even less. Whats the future for cruising at these rates, more reduction in quality. How low can they go. To be honest i thought last year was cheap with the unmentional of Costa i thought that may put of new cruises to the industry. My theoy, to many ships....

Hi All

With the Caribbean at £399 for 12 nights Princess can not be covering costs,

They have already said less ships next year so rates will go up,

However if I can move holiday dates about might get to go on Ruby,

Princess is making me re think about the way we plan our cruises,

we pick ports year to two year out, now with endless deals

means we are booking cruises just weeks before sailing, may be not

the cruise I wanted but at these rates, a cruise is a cruise.
