Casino Comp Chick Posted May 27, 2013 #151 Share Posted May 27, 2013 uh oh. here we go. wait till the smokers see this comment  ( i agree with you. the smokers around here seem very hostile though and seem to believe smoking anywhere they want is a civil right ) Maybe the smokers just think the non smokers on here are just a bad joke. Amazing how they try to squeeze in their comments on a thread that has ZERO to do with smoking. They are just ridiculous.
Coastalbreezes Posted May 27, 2013 #152 Share Posted May 27, 2013 I would dine at Ocean Blue again in a heartbeat! My only suggestion to those who plan to eat there is to order one course at a time instead of all at once. It seemed that the second I put down my fork from my appetizer, the Dover sole was placed in front of me. Ditto the dessert. I felt very rushed to order, and was out of there in about an hour. If I am paying those prices, I want to enjoy the experience and linger a bit. FYI, At Zakarian's NYC restaurant, the Dover sole alone is $59. Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted May 27, 2013 #153 Share Posted May 27, 2013 Maybe the smokers just think the non smokers on here are just a bad joke. Amazing how they try to squeeze in their comments on a thread that has ZERO to do with smoking. They are just ridiculous. Threads evolve and go through varying tangents the longer they become. To expect totally linear focused discourse does not seem realistic. The post regarding Kevin Sheehan's comments to USA Today where he indicated that he's "tying to get more like Celebrity" brought to my mind an initial thought (prompted by how them seem most different). Since I spend a lot of time in shipboard casinos, this was my first observation and I deemed it worthy of comment. I was not trying to stoke the smoker/non-smoker eternal flames - but alas, that's not realistic either... is it? :( To make comments saying someone (or group of people) is a "bad joke" and are "ridiculous" is unnecessary, IMO. Scoutmaster1221 Posted June 9, 2013 #155 Share Posted June 9, 2013 Just came back on the June 2 through June 9 cruise ... Ocean Blue service is outstanding .. However .. the food is LESS THAN MEDIOCRE ... the quality of the raw food is great, but the recipes and the preparation are POOR ... the $49 fee only includes your choice of app OR salad .. entree and desert .. if you want an app and salad ... add $12 each .. too high a price ... no one should waste their money ... we had the salmon in Ocean Blue .... it was 100 times better in the Manhattan restaraunt at no additional cost ... Suggest you just stay away until the prices come back into a reasonable range and the quality improves.

I'd still likely go to try the steak tartare and the prime grade ribeye (yes, at a seafood place)! Tom

I dont even mind paying a little extra for a side item or extra appetizer. But I hear NO sides are available and $12 for soup or an extra appetizer is extreme. I bet the place is still sold out which makes the chances of lowering their prices pretty slim :( I just dont get spending $50 on the meal, $12 on the martini, $12 for the extra appetizer =$74 x 2 = $148 plus tip $30 = $178 Spending all that AND walking away hungry :(
Educators2 Posted June 9, 2013 #158 Share Posted June 9, 2013 we just came back from the Breakaway. I decided to go for the $49 a person at Ocean Blue. Impeccable service and presentation. Loved the panzanella and shrimp appetizer. Dover sole was very good. Desserts were extraordinary. If I had OBC to spend, I'd go again. Thought it was worth going once. There is plenty of food. A side would be nice but the sole was a large portion. I took the complimentary candies to my room.

And these posts are a perfect example of why an opinion is just an opinion, not a fact. Everyone's tastes and expectations are different. One person hated it one person loved it.
