Just got this from a friend on the Elation. Will post details as I get them.

Greetings from the Elation. We've had a great trip so far.

 

However, at noon CDT, Captain Donato announced that we were turning around

to search for a person who has apparently gone overboard. Announcements

looking for her started at 11.

still haven't heard anything from my friend. I hope I can get some info tommorrow morning. I do know that they were in Belize on Thur and suppose to cruise two days at sea back to Galveston.

Hoping that the woman is alive and well and in a corner drunk and passed out or something:confused: Is is easy to FALL off a cruise ship? I'm getting nervous, sailing on the Elation in a week and really don't want to go overboard:o ?

This is BAD!! I was on the Elation last year, and I cant seem to think of a way that you can fall overboard unless you are climbing up the rails or something!

 

We will be on the Elation next weekend! Hope he/she is ok!

No news yet. sailwx.info hasn't been update since yesterday so we don't know where the elation really is right now. I will keep checking for a message from my friend.

Now, Derf, you know it's not commonplace.:rolleyes: I talked with a friend who's a news editor for a Galveston newspaper. They know nothing about it. Just seems strange to me.

Unless you're practicing your balance beam act on your balcony, I can't see a way to accidentally fall overboard. No worries....

No, but they are on the ship. I aplogize for not getting any addition info. I assumed what they sent me was factual. I just checked sailwx.info and it shows the Elation heading back for Galveston so it looks like they are on schdule. We will see what happens when she gets in tomorrow and I can get the full story.
